One of the Biggest Inefficiencies in Baseball Today is the failure to allow players to participate in Full Seasons. So many talented players fall by the wayside as they vacillate between the Majors and Minors. That doesn’t mean you allow a player to own a specific position at the detriment of the team. It does mean that your approach to navigating a season has to be incredibly methodical and rules driven so you establish a foundation for evaluating talent, player development and future performance. For #screenshotsaturday, I thought I'd share footage of this mini-game I've been working on in my Intergalactic Baseball video game. The objective is to earn a high score within the time limit by getting base hits and homeruns. I still need to finish making an actual baseball field and determining what counts as a "hit" and what counts as an "out". Also, I've added both traditional breaking ball pitches and special pitches to the pitching machine's arsenal now. #gamedesign #gamedevelopment

Jeff I enjoy your posts and content but on this one I respectfully disagree with you by including this in with the issues MLB and Our Great Game has today which you have many times pointed out (so spot on!!) To quote the great HOF Umpire Doug Harvey in his MLB HOF Induction speech’—“to Managers. Coaches, and Players, please learn the rules —the real rules—not the made up rules”. I am biased but it is top 10 HOF Speeches of all time. Please listen and watch it. This is 100% interference and would (and should) have been called 20 years ago when you played, 50 years ago, and 100 years ago. If a fileder is hindered or impeded in making a play on a batted ball by a baserunner —it is interference. Was there contact? No. That’s not the rule. Contact does not need to happen for interference to occur per MLB official rule. The fielder clearly changed direction and was Hindered in his original direction on making a play due to the baserunner’s position. Official rule on interference occurring during an infield fly has a specific definition and this was correctly called. MLB Official Rules are full of what many would say are “stupid” or “bon sensical” but that is not a new thing.

There are numerous developmental benefits when "speeding" up youth baseball. More failure = more learning. And in SpeedBall, there's significantly more repetitions and game play. Overall, its a more fun, developmental format for youth baseball, especially non-elite.

🚀 Exciting Day 1 Progress Update: Starting a New Baseball Project! ⚾️ Today marks the beginning of an exciting journey as I dive into a new project focused on creating a baseball game. 🎮 Here's a quick overview of what I accomplished on day 1: 🔹 Added a Pitcher and Catcher: Lay the foundation for the game by introducing key players onto the field. Excited to see them come to life! 🔹 Implemented 3 Different Throws: Slow Throw: Perfecting the art of the changeup to keep batters guessing. Fast Throw: Bringing the heat with blazing fastballs to keep the competition on their toes. Curve Throw: Adding some spin and curve to the mix, aiming to baffle batters with every pitch. It's just the beginning, but I'm thrilled with the progress made so far.
