✋🏻 Yes I admit it, I tend to overthink... But I'm learning to overcome it. As a video creative I've come to appreciate the delicate balance between meticulous planning and leaving some space for the unknown and just going for it. This has taught me invaluable lessons about creativity, and how my brain does it. Planning is undoubtedly essential in filmmaking. It sets the foundation for a project, ensuring that the vision is clear, resources are allocated efficiently, and timelines are met. However adhering rigidly to a plan can limit creativity and opportunities. Sometimes the best moments, or indeed whole projects, occur when we allow ourselves to follow unexpected paths. Embracing the unknown and moving forward is not about relinquishing control but about opening ourselves up to spontaneity and, many times, trusting your gut. Some of our most memorable episodes at Everhouse have been exactly this, just like the video below. Whether it's stumbling upon a hidden gem of a location, encountering an unexpected interviewee whose stories add depth to an episode, or improvising a creative solution to a technical challenge. Listening to your gut and moving forward can be a way of tapping into your own experiences and expertise, you're authorizing yourself to utilize the wisdom you've acquired to enhance your decision-making and creativity. #videocreator #overthinking #creativity #youtube #lifelesson #everhouse #overthinker #justdoit

Looks like things are heating up (in a good way) for the St James theatre. Recent major roof works means the building is now 99% weather tight. Next will be the new foundations system, including 120 new piles and base isolators. Maybe (hopefully?) the biggest controversy will be whether the (stolen) statue replacements are clothed or not. There are some very informative VLOGS on the magical story about the restoration, called Once Upon a Rebuild. https://lnkd.in/gypEy4Z4 The Queen Street area in front of the St James needs to have buses removed so that we all have a seamless connection across the Arts Quarter (Civic, Aotea, Town Hall etc) and patrons and everyone else can enjoy pre and after function street facilities like they do elsewhere in the world. Or at least (until we get to LR 🤔 ) centre running electric city link red buses only. No where in the city centre masterplan does it have Queen street in this area as a bus layover, with bus sausages lined up and up, including around the corner up the of Wellesley street, as is currently occurring.
