This means that the load transfer is delayed because the car initially puts energy into the damper/spring system. The ARB, depending on its specification, creates torsional resistance to control the roll of the chassis and to keep as much of the tire surface as possible on the ground. Tires, track surface, dampers, springs, etc., all influence each other and surely impact the effectiveness of the ARB. Working for GM Performance Motor Sports has given me an opportunity to think about and appreciate automobile performance in many different ways. Whether it is going to NASCAR races, working with race data, or even working in our Concord, NC technical innovation center, I've been mesmerized by driver and car performance just about every day. However, every once in a while, something comes along that causes me to say "Wow!". Coming out swinging - the 2025 Corvette ZR1! Rolling on the success of the platform, Chevy has released their wildest version of the mid-engine Corvette yet. And they did not disappointed. It not only is the most powerful Vette to ever leave the factory, it is the most track-capable as well. Powering the C8 ZR1 is a Twin Turbo 5.5L Flat-Plane V8 (LT7) packing 1064hp and 828lb-ft of torque, that revs to 8000RPM. The first factory Twin Turbo Corvette ever built. That power is pushed to the wheels via a 8-Speed Dual Clutch gearbox. No 0-60mph times have been published yet, but they should be heavily improved over the previous models. However, the one thing Chevy has been very open about is that the ZR1 has an estimated sub-10 second 1/4 mile sprint time, with a top speed of 215mph. The track-focused ZTK package adds a whole host of carbon fiber aero parts, which creates some 1200lbs of downforce at speed. Staggered 21 and 22 inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2-R tires connect the power to the road. A stiffer suspension and specifically designed Carbon-Ceramic brakes for the ZR1 provide the cornering and stopping power. And yes, that is a Split Window above that V8. Production will start next year and it will be built alongside the Z06, Stingray and E-Ray at the Bowling Green, Kentucky plant. #corvette #zr1 #v8 #performance #speed #usa 🇺🇲 #Anis_Maaouia
