This project illustrates a practical application of ground screw foundations where high resistance to tensile forces is required. 🔩🌞 For this project, a tent structure was required at a location where digging was not permitted. Ground screw foundations were the ideal choice for creating anchor points, essential for setting up the tent securely. This method guarantees a quick and efficient installation without the need for extensive groundworks. #groundscrews #ecobuilding #screwfoundations #construction #sustainablebuilding #firstbasegroundscrews

In Cheshunt, SPEEDECK overcame significant ground challenges, like having a high water table, to deliver effective foundation solutions for 50 housing units. Utilising CFA piling and piled raft foundations, we ensured a fast, cost-effective build over just 10 weeks, avoiding the complexities of sub-water table construction. Explore how our tailored foundation designs not only expedited construction but also enhanced sustainability in our Cheshunt case study: https://lnkd.in/eck6DZyC #geotechnicalengineering #groundinvestigation #designengineering #constructionmanagement #riskmanagement #safetyengineering #testing #quality #groundheave #groundworks #construction

What is Piling and Why is it Important? At Alpha Piling, we specialise in making sure your building has a rock-solid foundation—literally! But what exactly is piling? What is Piling? Piling is a process where we bore and inject the ground with long, strong concrete and reinforcement deep into the ground to support the weight of a building or structure. This is especially important when the soil beneath is unstable or weak. Why Do We Use Piling? Piling helps prevent the ground from shifting, which can cause serious damage to a building over time. For example, if you have trees nearby, their roots can absorb water from the soil, leading to "heave"—where the ground swells and moves. Piling protects your structure from these movements by anchoring it deep below the surface. Where is Piling Most Beneficial? Near Trees or Gardens: Protects against heave caused by tree roots and changing soil conditions. Weak or Unstable Ground: Provides a stable foundation in areas where the soil is not strong enough to support a building on its own. New Builds or Extensions: Ensures the longevity and safety of any new construction. At Alpha Piling, we understand the importance of a strong foundation. Reach out to us to learn more about how we can help keep your building secure, no matter what’s going on beneath the surface! When the foundation is strong and stable, the building is firm and able. The strength of any building begins with its foundation. You need to think of the long-term implications before settling for any foundation type. For instance, pile foundation is used in areas where the soil surface is weak and unstable, e.g waterlogged areas. That way the load can be transferred to the deeper and more stable soil layers. When the foundation is strong and stable, the building is firm and able. Watch as we break down the step-by-step process of constructing a pile foundation #BuildingStrongFoundations #PileFoundation #ConstructionMadeSimple #FieldExplorerLimited #Construction101 #Building #Construction #ConstructionCompany #LagosBuilder

We’ve been hard at work across several of our current projects. Here's a quick snapshot of what we've been up to… Edward Peake School, Biggleswade – Barnes Construction: - Formed the site compound - Installed external drainage runs and manholes - Installed external services - Installed both attenuation tanks - Formed the access road - Reduced the building footprint - Started excavating the foundations and installing the reinforcement - Today, we’ll be pouring majority of the foundations! Big Yellow Self Storage, Staines – MCS: - Installed external drainage runs and manholes - Partially installed external services - Installed the Aquaswirl and filter units - Excavated and poured concrete foundations, including installing the reinforcement - Poured the lift pit base and walls - Partially installed the kerbs The Spectrum VR Group Unit, West Thurrock – Thomas Sinden: - We’re nearing the finish line! All that’s left is to wrap up the externals, bringing us one step closer to practical completion. #Construction #Groundworks #ProjectUpdate #Teamwork #Progress #BarnesConstruction #MCS #ThomasSinden
