We're thrilled to announce that Theatrum Radix VR Experience by Marlene Bart and Ikonospace BV (Joris DEMNARD, Manuel Farré), will be part of this year's re:publica republica GmbH and its offstage program! The VR experience of Theatrum Radix intertwines systems of categorization from natural history with cutting-edge technologies like CT scans and 3D modeling. Within the virtual realm, natural elements transform into surreal, dynamic images, enhanced by artistic creations. Viewers find themselves delving into the depths of bones, exploring the intricate details of a glass brain, or immersing in the inner workings of a dissected frog. They journey through vibrant reflections of wetlands, where the boundaries between different species blur, offering a speculative glimpse into habitats and systems of order. This unique experience prompts a shift in perspective, distancing viewers from the human-centric lens typically used to understand nature. The project's title, Theatrum Radix, harks back to the vision of seventeenth-century Italian philosopher Guilio Camillo and his Theater of Memory, a conceptual space intended to encapsulate the entirety of worldly knowledge. While Camillo's theater remained a conceptual construct, Theatrum Radix brings his idea to life, creating a hybrid universe that challenges conventional human perceptions of the natural world. By fostering a playful interconnectedness among objects, the project critiques hierarchical notions of order, favoring instead an organic and evolving network. https://lnkd.in/ehYyZzmR

The image captures the blend of technology and optical illusion, illustrating the transformative effect of technology on our perception and interaction with art. This is what Nowadays eye-tracking technology and its applications allow in creating infinity mirrors. Digital Expo is esploring the interfacing of motion control of infinity mirrors using eye tracking, delving into the benefits and limitations of such technology. Eye tracking can enhance the illusion of infinity mirrors, a fascinating blend of art and optical illusion, by responding to the viewer's gaze. The ideas come out from the paper "Reimagining Vision with Infinity Mirrors" by Panaite, Bogdanffy from the University of Petrosani, This groundbreaking work opens up new possibilities for interactive installations and exhibits, showcasing how technology can transform our perception and interaction with art. Join us at Digital Expo to discover more about this cutting-edge research and other innovations redefining the boundaries of technology and creativity. #Innovation #DigitalExpo #EyeTracking #InfinityMirrors #TechArt #InteractiveDesign

Concept: An interactive children's museum exhibit that allows kids to explore the human body from the inside out. Imagine a giant, walk-through model of a body where kids can climb through different organs, crawl through veins, and even peek inside a beating heart (simulated, of course!). Interactive displays could explain the functions of different organs, and augmented reality elements could project information about the body's systems in real-time.
