As we age, declining estrogen levels can significantly impact our bone health, leading to conditions like osteoporosis. This isn't always visible on a DEXA scan but affects the tensile strength of our bones, making them more prone to fractures. It's crucial to do hormone testing to understand what's truly happening in your body. Want to learn more about managing your health during perimenopause and menopause? For many women, they think that menopause or even an early hysterectomy is the end of hormone function… We’ve been told time and time again to “expect this” as it is “a natural part of life”. It’s not. Women do not have to go through the excruciating symptoms of menopause… and any practitioner who tells you must… Has earned the right as still “practicing”. Did you know that the endocrine system isn’t the only source of hormones or hormone-like substances…? Other body tissues that release hormones include: Adipose tissue (fat tissue) KIDNEYS LIVER GUT(gastrointestinal tract) This is exactly why we help our clients understand how to clear their detox pathways in order to optimize their health. It’s just plain biology. Want to have a conversation? Drop me a message to understand how to make small but effectual changes.

We know menopause is marked by a decrease in estrogen in the body, but a new study by researchers at Weill Cornell Medicine has uncovered that brain fog – a symptom so many women suffer from during menopause – may actually be caused by an increase in estrogen receptors in the brain. Further research is needed to understand exactly why the brain’s estrogen receptors increase, though researchers theorize that the brain is trying to hold onto whatever estrogen remains as the body’s hormone depletes. A study like this is crucial for us to have a better understanding of how menopause affects women’s brains, and thereby provide the most innovative and effective care for women suffering from symptoms. Menopause experts are calling for more research into menopause treatments and advocating for individualized options that address both symptoms and systemic changes in the body. Current treatment options for menopause symptoms are often under-researched, with some having questionable efficacy or causing potentially harmful side effects. It’s time to prioritize research to help women navigate the post-childbearing years, which could be the best years of their lives. We need to be part of the solution by investing time and money into updated research on aging women to provide the best options to maintain the highest quality of life possible. #womenshealthcareresearch #qualityoflife #healthieroptions #moreeducation

During menopause, a woman's estrogen levels decrease, leading to various physical and emotional changes. These changes can include mood swings, hot flashes, joint pain, and an increased risk of osteoporosis due to compromised calcium metabolism. Additionally, fluctuating hormones can affect heart health, causing palpitations and an increased heart rate. It's essential for women to understand and manage these changes to maintain their overall well-being during this transition period. If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, schedule an appointment with our healthcare experts today to discuss your concerns and explore personalized treatment options tailored to your needs. #MeNOPause #JehangirHospital #WeAddCare #PatientFirst #LiveHealthy #PatientCare #jointpain #hearthealth #healthcareexperts
