Kenya Association of Manufacturers’ Post

A team from UNIDO this afternoon paid a courtesy call to the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), led by Chief Executive, Tobias Alando, MML, Bsc. and Head of Consulting and Sustainability Joyce Njogu, MCIM, MBA. The purpose of the meeting was to explore potential areas for partnership and collaboration, focusing on the Circular Economy in County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIPs), and specifically targeting the beef and banana value chains. The primary goal of the project is to support Kenya in becoming an early and successful adopter of the green transition by promoting sustainable investments and circularity across key industries. Project Activities Include:- 1. Awareness campaigns, training, and capacity building 2. Creating market access and investment opportunities for green products 3. Developing a policy framework to guide the adoption and implementation of circularity within CAIPS. Potential Areas for Collaboration:- 1. Developing training manuals and jointly hosting awareness forums 2. Creating a circularity policy and regulatory framework 3. Establishing a market access program for green products. Mr Tobias Alando reiterated KAM's commitment to partnering with like-minded organizations and expressed eagerness to explore collaborative opportunities with UNIDO to further the circular economy agenda in Kenya. Ms Joyce Njogu also highlighted the Association’s significant role in advancing circular economy initiatives in Kenya, citing the LOOP Forum hosted by KAM. The event is designed to accelerate the circular economy movement in the country, and the third edition is scheduled for February 25-26, 2025. The LOOP Forum Kenya is set to be a key milestone in Kenya's transition towards a sustainable, circular economy. It will bring together industry stakeholders, policymakers, regulators, private sector leaders, civil society, knowledge institutes, investors, development partners, and youth-all playing a role in advancing circular practices. #KenyaLOOPForum

Wow!! This is great. The training offered through the courses offered is very instrumental in our day to day industry operating life.
