We believe in the power of early intervention to ensure healthy, beautiful smiles for a lifetime. That's why we recommend scheduling an orthodontic evaluation for your child at age 7. Why Age 7? At this age, children typically have a mix of baby teeth and permanent teeth, allowing orthodontists to identify and address potential issues early. Early evaluation can: 1️⃣ Guide Proper Jaw Growth: Detecting and guiding jaw growth can prevent more severe alignment problems in the future. 2️⃣ Correct Harmful Habits: Early intervention can help correct habits such as thumb sucking, which can affect dental development. 3️⃣ Create Space for Erupting Teeth: Addressing issues early can create the necessary space for permanent teeth to come in properly. 4️⃣ Prevent More Severe Problems: Early treatment can reduce the need for more complex procedures later on. Benefits of Early Intervention: ◼ Reduces the risk of severe dental problems ◼ Minimizes the need for tooth extractions ◼ Shortens overall treatment time ◼ Enhances self-esteem with a confident smile At Kenya Orthodontics, our team is dedicated to providing personalized care for your child's orthodontic needs. Early evaluation sets the foundation for a healthy, beautiful smile. Is an Extra Tooth Problematic? The presence of additional teeth may profoundly impact other vital aspects of your child’s oral health. Treatment or removal of your child’s extra tooth may help prevent them from developing associated problems in the future or the need for orthodontic treatment. Problems associated with untreated mesiodens may include: Improper bite alignment Disrupted eruption of other primary (baby) or permanent (adult) teeth Altered positions of surrounding teeth Cysts Because the presence of additional teeth in your child’s mouth can lead to other problems, it’s best to seek diagnosis and treatment as soon as you’re able. Your child’s dental professional is well-equipped to navigate this condition and offer recommendations on the best path forward for your child’s health and happiness. Treatment for Mesiodens When diagnosing this condition and determining the proper treatment approach, your child’s dental professional will often employ radiographic imaging like panoramic X-rays. Whether or not your child requires treatment will depend on: Their age and individual health history The size and position of their mesiodens The severity to which their mesiodens alters their other teeth and bite Typically, the treatment for problematic mesiodens will include surgical removal (also known as supernumerary teeth removal). To accomplish this, your child’s dental professional will likely use sedation to ensure your child is comfortable throughout the procedure. Informing yourself of your child’s health is always a smart bet, and you’ve done a great job doing that today. Remember that your child’s dental professional is the go-to for a mesiodens and that they’re specially trained to put your child at ease for treatment. You now boast a great understanding of this specific type of extra tooth and what you can do about it. #mesiodens #supernumeraryteethinmaxilla #bestbracesspecialistinbhopal #bestalignerspecialistinbhopal

Oral health neglect could be pronounced but in many conditions, most parents prefer to keep the primary teeth instead of removing them and ask for alternative treatment rather than extraction of the anterior primary teeth. But for a special child? It's deeply concerning to hear about instances where individuals with special needs aren't receiving proper care, especially in crucial areas like dental health. While we can't comment on specific cases, dentists need to provide care that accommodates the unique needs of each patient, including those with special needs. A special child visited us with extensively decayed anterior teeth, his parents were very much concerned with his anterior smile. so we decided to restore the smile of the child!!!! On C/E: 1. Dental caries: 71,72,81. 2. Grossly decayed: 52,51,61,62. Treatment Done: 1. Pulpectomy was done in 52,51,61,62. 2. Post- placed to 51,61. 3. RMGIC placed in 81,71,72. Note: The entire treatment was done under General Anesthesia. We have also released the upper high frenal attachment.

🥴Have you noticed that your baby's foot was turned in at birth but you were told that baby's foot will straighten out over time 😬Is your baby now a toddler and you are still waiting for their foot to straighten out by itself? Metatarsus adductus, sometimes also referred to as metatarsal adductus, is a common foot deformity noted at birth or shortly thereafter, where the front part of a child's foot turns inward. 🦶The curve is usually seen from the middle part of the foot to the toes. This condition can affect one foot or both. The condition can vary in severity from mild, where the foot easily flexes to a normal position, to severe, where correction with hands is difficult or impossible.😬 The exact cause of metatarsus adductus is not well understood, but it is believed to be related to the baby's position inside the uterus. The condition might be associated with limited space inside the uterus, which causes the baby's feet to be held in a bent position. The diagnosis of metatarsus adductus is usually done by an Expert Paediatric Physiotherapist.🤓 In mild cases, gentle stroking and stretches will effectively resolve the metatarsus adductus within a week or two. If metatarsus adductus persists and becomes more exaggerated when a child begins to walk, it is unlikely to resolve spontaneously by itself. In persistence cases of metatarsus adductus, serial casting to correct the foot posture may be required. Here at Sydney Kids Physio, our Expert Paediatric Physiotherapists 🤓have been able to help many toddlers correct their persistent metatarsus adductus with 6-8 weeks of serial casting and maintain the corrected foot posture with good supportive orthotic shoes. So if you are still waiting for your child's turned in foot to correct by itself, perhaps it's time to reach out to Sydney Kids Physio on📱 (02) 9790 4233 or DM @sydneykidsphysio. Find out how we can help correct your child's foot posture today! #sydneykidsphysio #metatarsusadductus #paedsphysio #kidsphysio #myfavouritephysio #serial casting #bankstown

Oral habits such as thumb/finger sucking, abnormal swallowing pattern/tongue thrusting, mouth breathing, lip biting etc can affect child's jaw growth and teeth alignment. Thumb and pacifier sucking habits will generally only become a problem if they go on for a very long period of time. Most children stop these habits on their own, but if they are still sucking their thumbs or fingers past the age of three, a mouth appliance may be recommended by your pediatric dentist (AAPD). In the case presented above, an 11yrs old kid with thumb sucking habit was given an appliance called Tongue crib. After 6months there was spontaneous correction of open bite due to habit elimination. Persistence of habits causes permanent alteration in oral musculature and hence might be the cause of relapsed orthodontic treatment later. Note: It is advisable to address these oral habits ASAP in order to have a healthy bite and oral muscles for your kids.

🔍🦷 Stay in the know! Wondering when it's the right time to visit your orthodontist? 😁 Look no further, my friends! 🌟 As a seasoned expert, let me guide you through this orthodontic journey with this exclusive knowledge drop! 💪📚 Let's dive right into it: ⏰ When should you visit an orthodontist? ⏰ 1️⃣ Early age: The American Association of Orthodontists suggests kids should have their first orthodontic assessment by the age of 7⃣. This early visit enables orthodontists to diagnose and treat any emerging issues, like crowded teeth or protruding jaws, before they worsen. Prevention is key! 👦👧 2️⃣ Transition to adolescence: Most orthodontic treatments occur between the ages of 9⃣ and 14⃣. At this stage, kids have most of their adult teeth, making it easier for orthodontists to address more complex dental issues, such as misalignment or overcrowding. Adolescence, when rapid growth occurs, allows for efficient corrections. 🌱✨ 3️⃣ Adult orthodontics: It's never too late to pursue a straighter smile! 🌈 More adults are taking charge of their dental health and wellbeing through orthodontic treatments. Whether it's traditional braces or invisible aligners like Invisalign, adults can address malocclusions, gaps, or even misaligned bites. Options are abundant, and confidence is restored! 💯⚡ 4️⃣ Symptoms of concern: Visiting an orthodontist also becomes necessary when certain situations arise. Keep an eye out for these common symptoms: ✅ Difficulty chewing or biting ✅ Excessive teeth grinding ✅ Frequent jaw pain or clicking sounds ✅ Snoring or breathing difficulties during sleep ✅ Unexplained tooth loss or erosion If you've experienced any of these, it's best to schedule an appointment with your trusted orthodontist as soon as possible! 👀 💥 Remember, information is power, my friends! Regular visits to your orthodontist will help ensure optimal oral health and a confident smile. 🌟 Stay informed, stay smiling, and spread the word! #OrthoInsights #SmileConfidence #HappyTeeth https://lnkd.in/gq7nQaq4

Why Does Your Dentist Need to Know About Your Bleeding History? Blood tells a story that your dentist needs to know, running through your veins like a river. As a dentist, I've learned that what flows beneath the surface can impact what we do above it. Here's why sharing your bleeding history is crucial. Bleeding disorders can turn routine procedures into complex situations. We need to be prepared. Even a small cut can become a big deal if your blood doesn't clot properly. Knowledge is power - and, in this case, safety. Family history matters. If your relatives have bleeding issues, you might too. It's genetic detective work that helps us care for you better. We're not just drilling and filling. We're guardians of your overall health, and knowing about bleeding disorders helps us be better guardians. Some bleeding disorders are subtle. You might only know you have one, once a dental procedure reveals it. We can adjust our techniques. Use special materials. Take extra precautions. But only if we know. It's not just about today's appointment. It's about planning for future procedures, too. Certain medications can affect blood clotting. Knowing your history can help us better understand how these medications might impact you. Dentistry isn't just about teeth. It's about the complex system that is you. Your blood is part of that system. Next time you're in my chair, don't let your bleeding history be a secret. Please share it. It could make all the difference. #BleedingDisorderAwareness #DentalSafety #BangaloreDentist #ComprehensiveDentalCare #DentistNearMe
