❗️ Community Action and Fairer Life Chances Funds The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland has two funds open to #Aberdeenshire application: Community Action - will support community activities that bring communities together to improve wellbeing and develop positive relationships within those communities. Projects should help people connect with each other and/or the environment. The definition of community is being broadened for this fund to include people who share an identity, interest or experience, as well as people living in the same place. You can apply for funding between £20,001 and £250,000 for up to five years. Fairer Life Chances - Fairer Life Chances is for projects providing services that support children, young people and families, or that help people to be healthier or have better access to support. You can apply for funding between £20,001 to £500,000 for up to five years. 📢 Voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations (VCSEs) are under increasing pressure, not least due to the unpredictability and short term nature of the funding environment, recruitment issues and skills gaps. Our first interim evaluation report for The National Lottery Community Fund explores the Dormant Assets NI Phase 1 Grant Programme. The programme sought to build the capacity, resilience and sustainability of the VCSE sector in Northern Ireland. So, what can we learn about what works? Six key themes were identified for building the capacity, resilience and sustainability of VCSEs: - Diversification of income sources - Strategic operational and financial planning - Staff/volunteer recruitment and training - Developing leadership and management capabilities - Partnership working - Demonstrating impact and social value. 2025 Catchment Support Fund launched by Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO) At the Communities Caring for Water conference in Athlone the Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO) launched the 2025 Catchment Support Fund. The fund will help build the capacity of non-governmental organisations working in the area of water quality in Ireland by providing funding toward core organisational running costs. The charity sector is poised for significant change alongside the new Labour government - but how so? We can anticipate a renewed focus on social welfare, community support, and tackling inequality, which may bring increased funding opportunities for charities working in these areas. However, with potential shifts in policy, charities will need to ensure these align with new priorities while advocating for the causes that matter most to their communities. It's certainly an exciting time, but also one that requires strategic adaptation from the sector to make the most of the evolving landscape. Thoughts?👇

Strengthening the partnership between SWISS, help alliance and SOS Children's Villages 🌍✈️  SWISS is continuing its long-standing support for SOS Children's Villages International and at the same time intensifying its collaboration with the aid organization, help alliance. SWISS and its passengers have been collecting donations on board for SOS Children's Villages for years. The partnership will now be even closer, to exploit synergies and make our commitment even more effective. From 2025, the support will focus on a joint project to implement three initiatives in Johannesburg and Cape Town that support disadvantaged children and young people in particular:  👭 Schooling for children: parentless or disadvantaged children receive school materials, school uniforms and support for their journey to school.    👩🏫 Vocational training & mentoring: Young people receive support through vocational training, workshops and mentoring - an important help in securing their professional future in a country with high youth unemployment.   🏠 Renovation & infrastructure projects: Renovations and access to solar energy and clean drinking water ensure safe and healthy living conditions in SOS Children's Villages.
