The Sizewell C Community Fund is proud to support Young People Taking Action (CYDS). CYDS has recently been awarded just over £19,000 for youth engagement and detached outreach work. With over 20 years of supporting young people in and around Leiston, CYDS is well-placed to support young people living in areas impacted by the Sizewell C construction. With the funding, CYDS will be able to collate data and insights to inform a strategy for future youth work in the area over the longer term. The Sizewell C Community Fund will provide up to £23m to local charities, community groups and organisations which are delivering projects that benefit local communities in East Suffolk. With this funding, it’s registered 138 new volunteers, including 52 young people working on their Duke of Edinburgh Awards. As highlighted in Emily Harle's article, while other funding sources have declined, grants from foundations remain one of the few stable sources of support for charities. This has led to some notable trends among grant-makers: 📈 Application volumes have increased significantly for many funders ⚖️ Many grant teams are adapting their processes to manage higher demand ⏸️ Some funders are pausing new grant-making to review and adjust their programmes to better serve the charities, organisations and individuals they support. Carol and Catherine discuss how ACF members are responding to these challenges and the importance of collaboration between funders when considering programme changes, to understand the impact on the wider ecosystem.
