I have never been so disappointed at the lack of governmental and law enforcement action as I have this year. I believed the quiet of the past week was an indication that illegal fireworks were not going to be as much of an issue tonight. I was wrong. I have been watching burning debris falling around us all night. It's time to do something more than ask "please don't" and send out drones with bright red lights that everyone can see coming. Actual people on the ground ticketing violators would more than pay for the overtime and would contribute greatly to the safety of our community.
