Burnout in the veterinary profession is on the rise 📉, with long hours ⏰, emotional stress 😓, and heavy workloads 📋 taking a toll on vets and their staff. Over 50% of vets report burnout symptoms like exhaustion, detachment, and reduced job satisfaction, which can impact overall patient care and wellbeing. 🏥💔 ⚠️ Challenges such as handling after-hours calls 📞🌙, dealing with difficult clients 🤯, and unrealistic public perceptions 🎬 add to the strain. We can help ease these pressures by managing routine and after-hours calls, allowing vets to focus during consultations without constant interruptions. 📲 Our expert call filtering and escalation processes ensure emergencies are prioritised 🚑, providing much-needed support that helps vets maintain a healthier work–life balance. ⚖️ One of our current customers said: ✨ “It’s a massive help to have someone else gather the client’s details during the night. It gives us time to wake up and focus on emergencies.” 📞 Learn more about reducing burnout and improving wellbeing in your practice. Link to the full blog in the comments! 👇

Protecting veterinary teams from🔥BURNOUT🔥through practical and tactical Burnout Preparedness Training with the Veterinary Burnout P.R.E.P. Certification Program!
WOW! WOW! WOW! THIS is why Veterinary Burnout Preparedness Training and Wellbeing Training MATTER for vet professionals! Thank you Natasha Lotter for the shout out, but most importantly, thank you for prioritizing yourself and giving yourself the space to do the work required! This stuff is SO important! The minute I realized the importance of wellbeing and personal development back in 2016, I committed to sharing what I had discovered, utilized, and benefitted from with others until the day I died! As Natasha mentions here, it can truly make a difference, and I strongly encourage anyone with influence or a veterinary leadership role to - at a minimum - enroll themselves, and if you want to really go all in, then you can provide this for your entire team! The statistics speak for themselves, there could be someone silently suffering in your practice, or maybe it's you that's finding difficulty in your current personal life or career experience. All I know for sure is that beating burnout and allowing wellbeing requires some degree of "work" to be done. It won't just come and find you without the inner work being done. If you're interested in learning more about our Team Burnout Preparedness Training, send me a message here on LinkedIn, and I will get you all the information you need to take the next steps! If you want to do the program for yourself as an individual, then you can visit the link in my profile, message me, or just Google "Veterinary Burnout PREP Certification Program"! Remember, Veterinary Burnout is REAL, but it doesn't have to be your REALity!
This is what the Get MotiVETed! Veterinary Wellbeing Solutions Burnout P.R.E.P course does. It leaves your mind at ease with the skills to cope, but more than that, it melts away the physiologic effects of stress. As Quincy Hawley mentioned- no more subpar life of mediocrity. I never expected in 12 weeks to see outcomes like this, but the journey is far from over. Don't wait for burnout to do this course, nor say I dont need this as I dont have burnout. The skills may enable you to help your team member, a family member, or a neighbour. The skills may literally make and be the difference between sickness and health, or between life and death. I guarantee you this course will guide you back to your true north. To end , I'm in no way affiliated to this wellness university, but the results speak for themselves, but if this post can help at least one person out there.. Somehow, it's already October, and we’re kicking off the third quarter! We just wrapped up a virtual team coffee break, where we shared our Q3 plans. There's a lot of excitement as the wheels are now in motion for what promises to be an exciting and productive quarter ahead! Alongside all of our plans, we’re putting mental health and wellbeing at the forefront at The Webinar Vet in October. We believe that helping veterinary professionals build extraordinary careers also means supporting their mental wellbeing. That's why we've curated a wide range of resources designed to support you - whether that's seeking guidance for your personal life or tools to use within your practice. Our goal is to ensure you have the support needed to thrive both professionally and personally. The veterinary community faces significantly higher rates of depression and suicide compared to the general population, making it crucial for us to speak up and seek help when we need it. Shocking recent stats show the rising number of vets reporting having suicidal thoughts, 30% of vets reporting feeling burnt out and many vets feel too ashamed to seek help. This is not ok. Our Wellbeing Hub has been designed with your suggestions in mind and with vital resources that we hope will help you to thrive: https://lnkd.in/eU33fr-n Some key features: 🎙️ Podcasts - Listen to our brand new episode featuring the incredible Sharon MacArthur, discussing the menopause. (Sharon was a brilliant guest and this podcast will really make you think differently about the menopause!) Liz Barton is also doing some incredible work over at WellVet which launched this morning and we hope to get this added to our hub soon :-) 📝 We have blog posts full of strategies designed to support your mental wellbeing, looking at everything from neurodivergence, work-life balance and career support 📚Our CPD course: Mastering Wellbeing: Neurological Strategies for a Calmer Life by Dr Mike Scanlan—offering techniques to reduce stress and find balance. Please remember, Vetlife is here for you 24/7 and you can find contact details on our hub for them too. If there's anything else you'd like to see in our Wellbeing Hub, Molly-Daphne Roberts would love to hear your suggestions x Anthony Chadwick, The Webinar Vet, James Russell FRCVS, Luke Curtis, Dawn Robinson, Molly-Daphne Roberts, Roy B., Charlie Coles, Fiorella Castro Bonilla, Amanda Welstead, Ross Bearman, Mike P., Philip Bird, Clare Brennan, Kamila Buczek, Sarah Cowan RVN, Danielle Hughes, Rob Williams, Lizzie Lockett, Melissa Donald, Clare-Louise Knox (She / Her), Charlotte Pace, Lyndsay Hughes, Claire Gillvray

🐾 Clinic Culture and Veterinary Well-being: A Critical Connection 🐾 Veterinary professionals face immense occupational stress, from demanding work environments to the emotional toll of client interactions and challenging decisions. When stress becomes chronic, the risks to mental health can be severe, with far-reaching consequences for both individuals and teams. Recent research by da Silva et al. (2023) highlights the concerning link between occupational stress and an increased risk of suicidal ideation in veterinary professionals. Their findings emphasize how low job control and limited social support can significantly elevate these risks, further underscoring the importance of a supportive work environment. A healthy clinic culture plays a vital role in mitigating these stressors. Social support in the workplace—through strong supervisory relationships, collegial support, and a balanced work-life dynamic—can dramatically improve staff well-being, job satisfaction, and mental health. However, it’s not enough to simply encourage social support. It is critical to use standard tools for identifying risk factors and preventing suicide. These tools help create emotionally balanced, socially capable professionals who are better equipped to handle the challenges of the veterinary profession while continuing to provide high-quality services to the community. Promoting a culture of care in the clinic, where social support is prioritized and risk factors are systematically addressed, is key to fostering resilience and mental well-being. Encouraging open communication, offering mentorship, and implementing supportive tools can protect your team's health and ensure long-term success. By investing in your clinic’s culture, you're investing in the health and happiness of your staff, which ultimately leads to better outcomes for everyone. #VeterinaryMedicine #ClinicCulture #WellBeing #MentalHealth #WorkLifeBalance #SuicidePrevention #VetMed (Reference: da Silva et al., 2023)

Your mental health will thank you, and so will your patients and colleagues. 👉 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑: Knowing what to focus on and what to decline is a key leadership skill. It shows you can manage your time and make smart choices for the team, ensuring everyone works more efficiently. In the veterinary field, saying no isn't about letting people down; it's about making choices that keep you and your work at your best.
