One reading through the lines would say ‘techne meets metis’. Indeed it was nostslgic. A profond moment to reflect on the de-risking agenda and creating a strong knowledge fabric weaved over decades of experiences. The vision to create and retain capital catalysed through robust insurance markets in Africa is nolonger a dream. Agency for Inclusive Innovations & Development (AIID) is pulling an inclusive ‘metis and techne’ to create input neccesary to advance the realisation of an effective and vibrant agricultural Insurance market in Africa. Aggregration or say collective action fundamemtally reduces transaction costs. African markets are fragmented hence inneficient. Aggregated Insurance markets has the power to crowd-in investments and unlock the potential of African markets. Anchoring our thoughts on this assertion, we are keen to re-orient the role and contribution of insurance in catalysing the development of sustainable #foodsystems in this great continent. Lets connect and create value towards this vision. Aggregating people too, has the same catalytic DNA.

I enjoy and find useful a lot of different types of post on LinkedIN... I really enjoy the content Alexis Bertholf ✨ posts... it is fresh and different and heck, who hasn't had to try and explain their job to their parents, spouses, kids, etc. It is something we all have in common... And -- there is a good business and personal lesson in this exercise as well. Honing explanations or descriptions of difficult or complex topics is an important skill... You never know when you might have to use that elevator speech to describe your company, or your solution, or what you do! Alexis' family did a great job! My favorite was "you connect cords and explain stuff". 😁 Great work bringing different and valuable content to this sometimes buttoned down platform!

A Friday thought … when it starts to get easy it’s time to go harder Hey hope you had a great week, it’s been more of a grounded week in the life of Mike. A couple of days in London learning more about the Low & No world of beverages and meeting lots of new people. Along with getting back into lots of our projects back at HQ. Today we have our end of year results meeting at I.T.S. It’s been a great year with so many positives and it’s amazing to have such a wonderful team. Tonight we are out out out to celebrate. It got me thinking today, just how important it is to switch gears when it starts to get easy, it’s time to go harder and push yourself and your team around you. It works everytime trust me :) So I challenge you to look at where things in your life have gotten easy and go find the harder challenges. In these new harder challenges and adversity will come the personal growth you are looking for. And a sense of real pride and achievement. So get out there and go for it ! What do you think ? (Self) Appreciation post: whew, Wintertime is tough. We are so conditioned to go, Go, GO – and I am incredibly proud of my diligence to sit in the slowness this past season.    A few Winter highlights:    1. Becoming comfortable with the idea of moving slower to allow for new learnings and observations.  2. Building out a swaggy team + solid client roster @ Pea Nation! 3. Watching the brilliant film “Origin” twice in 48hrs (watching it on a flight hits very differently). Please go watch it if you have not already.  4. Taking on more speaking opportunities + embracing the value of stepping in front of the mic (I’m so trained and I prefer to stay in the shadows).    🥂Cheers to Spring + warmer weather!!
