Commercial Enablement Manager @ C.H. Robinson | Driving Sales Growth with Customer Focus

Just when we thought we were heading towards "normality" in shipping windows in 2024, recent events in the Red Sea are having an impact. Some carriers have already introduced forced Majeure measures & implemented surcharges of US$1,500 /per container South/North bound cargo to/from Oceania. With the Panama Canal Authority also due to cut the daily activity in vessels by half in Feb 2024 we anticipate further disruptions, putting yet more pressure on schedules combined with port congestion this will create a demand and supply crisis. History has shown us what just 1 week of disruption can do to one of the world's key supply chain arteries when Ever Given blocked the Suez Canal in 2021. Shippers must prepare for a worst-case scenario and commence looking at contingency plans now. C.H. Robinson is here to guide you through these extraordinary challenges and ensure your supply chain remains strong.
