I am so pleased to be presenting again with my wonderful death education colleagues: Illene Cupit, Carla Sofka, and Rebecca Morse! We are presenting on teaching death education online in a post-pandemic world. Here is the description in the conference schedule: "Online education, and death education in particular, expanded significantly during the pandemic. One of the major lessons learned was that online teaching does not involve just mapping what is done in the classroom to an online environment; rather it involves creating course content, student interactions and actions in a unique environment with different rules regarding space, time, and how learning takes place. This symposium will re-examine the lessons we have learned from our experiences as online death educators, with an eye towards providing best teaching practices that are tailored to an online context of teaching dying, death, and loss."

⭐ Last week was a busy one for the Schools+ Network ⭐ We convened the amazing schools who are part of our Schools Learning Circles to further advance our joint work on the core processes of teaching and learning. Over 140 teachers and school leaders joined in five groups to discuss: - Classroom interaction - Cognitive engagement - Formative assessment and feedback - Quality of subject matter - Social and emotional support Not only did they share their knowledge on different “active ingredients” that support the successful implementation of these practices in the classroom, but also what evidence can be gathered to know whether these are effective or not. It was great to hear them discuss some thorny questions such as “How do we organise collaboration differently between older and younger students”, “How can you use scaffolding while keeping the bar of expectations high” and “How can we best support teachers who feel they are not well-prepared for teaching social-emotional skills?”. The main insights from these discussions will be available in the report that we are working towards.   We also convened the 10 members of the Informal Advisory Group to go over what we have learnt so far from evidence and schools as well as plans for the next meeting, the final report and high level event. We look forward to sharing and discussing them with all participating countries and organisations in Billund on 29-30 April.
