Dear all #Founders!
You don't build an Oscar winning movie. You build a compelling story, assemble a talented team, craft each scene with precision, perfect the cinematography, refine the editing, and create something that resonates with audiences. The market then decides if they agree with you - first at the box office, then through critical acclaim, and maybe, just maybe, with an Oscar. But that's not up to you. That's an outcome.
You don't build a #unicorn. You solve a real problem, assemble the right team, build effective systems, craft exceptional experiences, and create something that resonates with customers. The market decides if they agree with you - first with their wallets, then with their loyalty, and maybe, just maybe, with a billion-dollar valuation. But that's not up to you. That's an outcome.
The founder of #Pinterest went coffee shop to coffee shop, day in day out, asking people to try his new thing. Just doing the work, the raw, unglamorous, necessary, dirty, in the trenches work. There's no "kinda" doing the work - either you do it or you don't. EVERYONE started exactly where you are right now, even the unicorn-makers.
Every bone in your body is itching to design, code, and ship. You think you're building a product. You're not. You're building a solution to a problem for people lined up ready to pay for it.
Your #customers decide if its disruptive or innovative.

Movie re-releases are more than just a trip down memory lane—they are a masterclass in leveraging timeless value. Take the example of The Lion King (1994), which grossed over $180 million during its re-release in 2011. Such instances highlight how content with enduring appeal can create opportunities for renewed success. Studios use re-releases not just for profits but to reconnect audiences with stories that have stood the test of time. It’s also a chance to introduce iconic works to younger generations, amplifying their cultural relevance and emotional impact.
For professionals, the concept of re-releases offers valuable lessons: the best ideas or projects don’t expire; they can be reintroduced with fresh perspectives. This applies to careers, businesses, and even personal branding. Revisiting and refining past achievements can unlock new opportunities, provided they align with evolving trends or audience needs. The movie industry teaches us that innovation doesn’t always mean starting from scratch—it can also mean making the old new again, with purpose and precision.

Sometimes, opportunities come along that are simply too good to ignore. Doors open, and despite the anxiety that may accompany them, you'll never know what lies beyond unless you leap. So, I pushed that door wide open and stepped inside. I'm thrilled that I did because this decision has the potential to transform my career, unlock creative opportunities, and forge positive, exciting new working relationships.
Taking a step back. Life is about chance, and it was a chance encounter in the lobby of a creative workspace where I met Toby Walsham and Robyn Walsham at the beginning of the year. We were meeting the same person; they had double-booked. Serendipity swooped in. We spoke about the industry, its ongoing changes, the twists and turns, but also the potential that is out there to grasp. So, emails and coffee catch-ups later, we took the plunge, and I said "yes" because they were building an exciting offering: Imagine This Creative Studio It's new, in the true sense of the word. The roster is multi-disciplinary and supported globally by talented people behind the scenes, across production, press, and PR. It brings together directors, designers, composers, and post-production, and there is freedom to work and collaborate with others; no one is tied down, which is crucial in an ever-changing landscape.
I have mentioned this before: you can't sit on your hands, waiting for the phone to ring, emails to land, and jobs to magically appear (they can, which is always nice); you have to forge ahead, knock on doors, and showcase your talents. Curating connections, crafting new work, and being open to opportunities big and small are the only ways to grow and advance. So, the next time someone asks you what your next move might be or what fantastic idea you want to pitch, start by saying, "Imagine this…”

Sound has the incredible power to stir our deepest emotions. The right sound can transport us to a cherished memory, ignite a sense of wonder, or bring comfort in moments of chaos. For companies, this isn’t just about noise; it’s about creating a symphony that resonates with the hearts of their audience.
Imagine your brand not just as an image, but as a feeling—a melody that lingers long after the moment has passed. Let’s harness the power of sound to craft experiences that aren’t just heard but felt, forging connections that are unforgettable and profoundly meaningful.
3 Resources for #Inspiration
As I’ve shared before, one of my greatest sources of inspiration is people. I’m deeply passionate about observing how others live, create, and express themselves.
But it’s not always possible to connect with those who inspire me in real life. That’s when I turn to online media to discover fresh ideas and engaging stories. Here are three of my go-to resources:
Vulture Magazine. This entertainment outlet dives deep into pop culture and the people shaping it. Naturally, my favorite section is #Art. Their insightful reviews and features offer a fascinating look into the minds of genius creators.
Contemporary Art Issue. A publication dedicated to all things #contemporary art, it’s a treasure trove for emerging artists like me. I particularly enjoy their career advice section, filled with tools, tips, and resources to navigate the art world.
Juxtapoz. Their exclusive section is brimming with inspiring stories and thought-provoking conversations with prominent creators. It’s a must-read for anyone seeking a fresh perspective.
Now, it’s your turn—what are your favorite magazines? Share in the comments.
The last 24 hours have been wild. My inbox is overflowing with messages: “Did you see this?” “Is this for real?” “No more Shutterstock?”
The Getty and Shutterstock merger has everyone talking - and I get it. For photographers, directors, and contributors, it feels like the ground is shifting. Questions like, Will I lose an entire revenue stream? What does this mean for my work? are real, and they’re heavy.
Here’s the thing: this is a pivotal moment for creators. Consumers are craving authenticity. Brands are waking up to how much it matters. The human stories, the personal connections, the kind of creativity that AI just can’t replicate - that’s where the future is heading.
That’s why I’m so excited about what’s next for The Luupe. We’re building something different. Something built on the power of diverse, authentic creativity. Our new marketplace is designed to help creators thrive as the industry evolves.
This isn’t just another stock platform. It’s a space for diverse artists to lead with bold, fresh work that resonates. It’s a chance to show what happens when creativity meets humanity—and brands are already paying attention.
If you’re ready to be part of this, reach out, I'd love to connect. Or you can join our waitlist via the link below. I'm excited to build something real together.
