Happy International Women's Day!    Today, I want to celebrate the amazing women throughout the manufacturing industry including those I work alongside at SME — our staff, volunteer leaders on SME committees and boards, partners and members. Your drive, dedication, and impact are instrumental in shaping the future of manufacturing.   Women are entering the manufacturing workforce at a faster pace than ever, helping manufacturers combat the industry’s talent shortage. In fact, a recent Xometry + Women in Manufacturing study reported more than 80% of women in the industry recommend a career in manufacturing.  However, we still have a lot of work to do. So let's continue to support their careers, build relationships, and create a community where women can thrive. Lean In's first-ever report on the #StateOfLatinas in corporate America — based on the last five years of Women in the Workplace data — reveals a disturbing trend: Latinas face the steepest climb up the corporate ladder and end up the most underrepresented of all groups of employees in the C-suite. Despite this reality, Latinas remain highly ambitious and increasingly committed to advancing. This report sheds light on some of the distinct and compounding challenges Latinas face at work and provides specific actions companies can take to prioritize Latinas’ advancement.
