CRAZY IDEA: Similar to civilian sector, why doesn’t the military offer job fairs where proposed lateral movers get to ask questions about jobs they are interested in. Information would include: -Requirements for entering these fields -Potential bonuses -Future career progression in said field #RetainOurTalent #TalentRetention

I actually saw an advertisement on Pendleton about a Lateral Move Job Fair. I couldn't catch the dates. But this was my first time seeing or hearing of any such job fair.

I don’t see why this wouldn’t be feasible. Seems like it’s info that occfield sponsors and career counselors would have readily at hand, and could be done in conjunction with or complimentary to the MMEA/MMOA roadshows. I’m sure, just like those roadshows, much of this could be done virtually. Particularly lat-move eligibility. I’m sure a lot of that data is available and filterable via MCTFS and MCTIMS.
