Warehouses Are Sexy | The New Warehouse Podcast & Advisory Services

MODEX Takeaway #2: The start-up pavilion was very telling of gaps that need/needed to be filled. While robots were the big focus and the can't miss attention grabbers, the start-up pavilion at MODEX only had one company that I saw that was dealing with robots (Reshape Automation). The rest were focused on software solutions for what I like to call the "in-between" processes like labor management, returns processing and supply procurement for example. As large processes in the warehouse, like picking, have already been tackled, these smaller processes will become increasingly important to optimize and reduce the amount of redundancy needed. Keep an eye on these solutions, many of which have been on The New Warehouse already (Arvist, Two Boxes, Paccurate, Takt, Response) Did you get a chance to check out the start-ups at MODEX?
