A Crucial Message for Our LGBTQ+ Community: Protect Your Loved Ones with Life Insurance Our journey as members of the LGBTQ+ community has always been about fighting for our place in the world, but there’s another fight we need to take on—securing our financial future and the well-being of those we love. A recent study has revealed a troubling reality: many of us are underinsured, or worse, uninsured. This gap in protection leaves our families vulnerable, and the consequences can be devastating. Life insurance is more than just a policy; it's a promise. A promise that, no matter what happens, your loved ones will be supported and protected. The lack of information and awareness around this topic is alarming, and it’s something we can no longer afford to overlook. Let’s not allow the hardships of life to catch us off guard. Take the time to learn, ask questions, and seek advice from a financial or insurance advisor who understands your unique needs. Being informed and insured is not just about money; it’s about security, peace of mind, and ensuring that those who depend on you/us are cared for. We’ve fought for our rights and our place in the society—now let’s fight for our financial security and of those who we love. For more details on the study and its implications, please click the link below. But more importantly, start the conversation today. Protect yourself, protect your family. PUSH! The 2024 Insurance Barometer Study focused on better understanding the LGBTQ+ community and found that the life insurance need gap (46%) is greater than for the population in general (42%). This means there is an awareness among those who don’t own it that they need it, as well as those who do own it and recognize that they need more. This is true of other minority communities the study has delved into in years past. The need gap in 2024 for Black Americans is 49% and Hispanics 53%, well above the average.
