Today is a good day... Firstly, the sun is shining in the UK ☀️ And I'm excited to dive into a rebrand with our client today! Over the past few days, I've been knee-deep in colour tokens and auditing reusable components ready for the design system roll-out. 'Design accelerator' is in full action. Applying new styles to the foundation components has created huge momentum. Our mantra? Keep it simple, scalable, and user-friendly. There is no time for complexity! ✌️ I've listened to the team, and we're on a mission to set them up to tackle a roadmap of optimisation in the future— no more reinventing the wheel on silly design tasks, freeing up time for innovation and growth. 📊 Developers are pumped to speed up delivery with streamlined components and have a single source of truth for all the teams to feed from. I am excited to see where this goes in the next 30 days. 🚀 #redesign #rebrand #uxdesign #uidesign #productdesign #digitaltransformation #designsystems #designforscale

Why are design principles important for every studio? Design Principles are a set of guidelines that empower a team to make wise decisions and appropriate trade-offs when designing, building and innovating. Applying design principles fosters a cohesive problem-solving approach, promoting efficiency, consistency and business and user-centricity. No one set of design principles works for all teams. When defining principles, it is important to think about the types of challenges being worked on and the team’s unique value proposition to solve them. This way, relevant guidelines can be defined that create a consistent roadmap across all projects. At Farco, we have ten that span the entire product cycle and represent our approach to projects and client relationships. Here is the second half of our principles that guide the studio. Hopefully it provides a useful reference. We’re interested to hear, what kind of principles do you find important and relevant within your own organizations or create teams? #designprinciples #designtransformation

Helping aspiring UX designers | 6yrs of Product design experience | Join my community of 200+ Passionate UX designers
This simple hack had help me alot with dealing with debates between teammates during design brainstorming sessions which can sometimes go on infinite loop without a clear conclusion. To save meeting time and avoid ego clashes, I use a simple hack. When there's a conflict of ideas between me and another designer, I ask them to quickly sketch or create rough boxy wireframes of their idea, and I do the same. We set a strict 5-minute timer, ensuring we don’t get lost in too much detail. Next, we list the pros and cons for each idea, also within a 5-minute time limit. After that, we compare both and mutually decide which idea to pursue, or sometimes merge the two to create an even better alternative design.

Some of you know I run a UX blog over on instagram, but I'm realizing one platform alone isn't the most accessible for people, especially as some prefer linkedin for this type of information. So in this post, I'd like to invite you to 2 things 😊 One is to follow my community page if you're interested in UX resources, templates, and webinars. I'll slowly be porting over things from the blog. Two, is to invite you to attend our August community meet up where we'll be doing a deep dive on design systems, co hosted by the great Jacob Olenick! It's a free event held over Zoom. Check out the post below for more information and a link to sign up! #ux #designsystems #uxresearch
An introduction on Design Systems - ADUX August Community Meetup! Join us for an hour long discussion with Jacob Olenick on design systems and how to best implement them in organizations! Jacob is currently a product design lead at Credit One Bank, and has previously held roles at organizations such as Cisco, Wells Fargo, and Paramount+ Jacob spends a considerable amount of time mentoring and creating content for other designers across various platforms. In this session, we will have a casual conversation where we unpack what design systems are, how to go about making one, and challenges towards implementing them. Guests are welcome to bring their own questions too and we will have ample time for Q&A. Link to register: https://lnkd.in/g6_5pDZc
