📸 Captured another gem at Buc-ee's Building a phenomenal culture starts right from the moment you step foot in the parking lot. What message does it send to potential talent when they see signs like "we care," "we've got your back," and "why wouldn't you want to work for an amazing company that values your and compensation?" Culture is all about being transparent and trustworthy in what your brand stands for. If you claim to be a family-oriented organization, you better live up to that promise as a guiding principle. If you boast about having the world's cleanest bathrooms, I better not find a cleaner one anywhere else on this planet! Where many organizations stumble is thinking that the words on the walls or the principles framed at the exit are enough to cultivate a collective purpose. False! It's the ability to consistently live up to those words that truly makes a difference. #OrganizationalCulture #Transparency #Trust #CollectivePurpose #Buccees #ExceptionalWorkplace #dreambig

How do you unlock creative thinking and unblock your ability to innovate and inspire? Go to Glastonbury. Sharing this not for the Glasto gloat (the FOMO is real, trust me every year I am not in that field I have to hide from my Instagram, Whatsapp, 6Music, BBCIplayer, life, the lot 😫 ) but because being in that field or indeed many festivals, gig spaces, galleries, art centers or other can be truly transformative. Glastonbury is like no place on Earth. It energizes, uplifts and inspires everyone who is lucky enough to get a ticket. It's a place that unites everyone with its rich creativity, kindness and incredible community and it reminds us why culture, in whatever form, is one of, if not the most important part of establishing and affirming our beliefs and values as a society. I am full up from my four days of escapism and connection, energised, and incredibly grateful for the freedom I have, whilst also acknowledging that this is not the case for many people right now. So why am I sharing this? I urge you to go, see, do, and experience more culture in whatever medium speaks to you or get curious about culture that is not your usual taste. Make time for you as creatives, strategists, wordsmiths, artists; as colleagues, leaders, and people who are part of and contribute to our society. It will leave you better at your job, happier, healthier, fuller and more hopeful. See you front left. #culture #community #society

Great diagram! Very clearly applies the iceberg principle to organizations.
The Iceberg Model of Culture Like an iceberg, company culture has the characteristic of being highly disproportionate in its actual visibility. While some aspects of culture are easily perceived from the outside, often called the surface culture, what forms the foundation of a strong culture is often submerged, deeper in the values and beliefs of the organization, called the "deeper culture." #companyculture #culturematters #surfaceculture #deeperculture #foundationculture #values #beliefs

Why does this Kayak video go harder than most yachting videos? While most walk-through videos show us what we have for sale, a brand anthem video shows who we serve, what we stand for, and more importantly what we stand against. Done right, it is a call-to-arms for internal teams and challenges new customers to question bad experiences. This is extremely hard to do and takes a classically trained marketer like Christine Stahr to craft basic brand values into a dynamic digital campaign. As a Marine Marketing Manager, which do you invest in when you technically need both a Walk-through video VS a Brand Anthem video? I have some thoughts, but first, rewatch this video, and let's continue the conversation below. #Branding #MarineMarketing #DigitalMarketingStrategy #CreativeDirection #BrandVideo
What matters most to you? Values. It's something I ponder frequently, especially how values apply to a company and its products and services. I firmly believe that how you approach one thing reflects how you approach everything. So when I set out to create a brand anthem piece for Native Watercraft, it was surprisingly easy because our company genuinely cares. We invest in development, our people, and remain unwavering in our commitment to providing the best experience on the water for the angling community. Values should be simple and shared, and I'm proud to say our company does just that: Dedication, connection, quality, catching fish?– all the things you want, we want too. I hope you enjoy this brand anthem piece that encapsulates our values.

A deeper company culture matters most. Although it is not easily visible, it usually shows through many of the measurable business metrics.

Optics only form part of the version of culture, dig deep to find true values within an organisation.
