Professor of Business Dr. Scott Ballantyne’s Financial Decision-Making course competed in the Bloomberg Trading Challenge, an international business competition that had over 10,000 students competing. Header School of Business students had impressive placements, with groups placing in the 5%, 20% and 25%. What happens when we dare to challenge the post-secondary status quo beyond the binary choice of college versus trade school? The Federal Reserve Banks are all knowing about this value without effective on the street action to pay for more “85-YearArc quality” as monetary policy. However, they are looking for street level solutions that provide mega benefits because the FED needs to show unique fairness on a national and local scope to retain long term respect from the public for its’ monetary policy function and contract with the US Congress. Economic valuation (new money) is about choice achievement of knowledge that cannot be reversed over periods of time that cannot be replaced. It represents money creation if we in the private sector make it so. This is about mining gold and turning it into a gold rush. George Guilder a supply side economist and futurist making this his point in his three books about wealth, knowledge and money. Numbers don't lie! If you're not tracking your transfer student populations, you should begin to do so. 1) What 2yr schools are students transferring from? Private/ Public? 2) Do they enroll in the same or similar field of study? Do they persist in these programs at your institution? 3) Alternatively, if students are transferring out of your school, why are they leaving? Reviewing data on reasons for total withdrawal are very helpful here. 4) Where are they going? In- State/Out-of- State? Public/ Private? 5) When they leave you, do they persist at other 4yr schools? If they don't, what can you do to get them to come back?! I absolutely love reporting on National Student Clearinghouse student tracker data. Is brevity impacting the effectiveness of your communication? This morning, Axios Macro spotlighted prepared remarks from Cleveland Fed president Loretta Mester, where she highlights the trend toward more succinct policy statements from the Central Bank. Mester’s remarks are as applicable to corporate communications as they are to the Federal Reserve, and raise important points: - Brevity is important, but not at the expense of comprehension.  - The most effective communication strikes a balance between conciseness and detail. Here’s a sample of Mester’s remarks: "While simpler is often seen as a virtue, it can also be a detriment, since policymaking has to be done in an uncertain world, one in which the economy is constantly being buffeted by shocks that can lead economic conditions to evolve differently than anticipated.” "With short statements, each word takes on added significance. Short statements suffer from what I call a 'Hotel California' problem: we are reluctant to change particular words because of the possible signal that doing so may send.”
