I am proud of the success of The Challenge Initiative (TCI) efforts in Uganda in collaboration of the Ministry of Health. Our approach focused on integrating adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health (AYSRH) activities into existing #FamilyPlanning programs. Exciting data has revealed a significant increase in contraceptive uptake among adolescents and older women in areas where the AYSRH interventions were layered onto FP programs. This is an encouraging example of the value of targeted, youth-focused interventions within broader #PublicHealth strategies. https://lnkd.in/dhNv2RbW

Brilliant new research (and epic communication of findings!) about abortion stigma in India. Some contrasting findings to what we see in Australia, which is not unexpected, given how locally specific stigma is. Young people here are most supportive of abortion access and have the highest abortion related knowledge, yet are very worried about social consequences related to abortion seeking. Can’t wait to delve in to the full report. Thanks Ipas!
In India, abortions are synonymous with taboo. And yet, our survey revealed that as many as 72% of respondents are supportive of terminating pregnancies. Why is there still so much stigma, and how can we move toward a world where reproductive justice prevails for all? Watch the video to find out.
