#SaudiArabia's The Royal Commission for AlUla has announced a significant #archaeological #discovery at #AlNatah, providing a fascinating glimpse into the urban planning of a #Bronze #Age #settlement. Dating back to 2400-1300 BCE, the site reveals a clear division within the fortified city, with separate areas designated for residential and funerary purposes. This #deliberate #segregation of #space #suggests a conscious effort to organize the community and manage the deceased, reflecting the #cultural #beliefs and #practices of the time. The presence of fortifications also indicates potential conflicts and the need for defense, highlighting the challenges faced by these early inhabitants.   ▪️According to the #RCU, #AlNatah covered an area of 2.6 hectares and housed a population of around 500 people.
