Recently, the Kahnawake community has demonstrated the power of people coming together, raising over 200 toys and $2,500 for families affected by holiday break-ins. 🎁💼🤲🏽 This is an inspirational model for corporations, philanthropic organizations, government agencies, housing developers, and residents alike. Especially for organizations helping single parents, there's a lot to learn here. Among the numerous challenges faced by single parents such as securing affordable housing, dealing with household expenses, and navigating legal and custody issues - every bit of support counts. Tuesday Takeaways. Today is #PurpleTuesday, the day when many of us try to raise awareness of disabilities and lived experiences with them, when we try to think of what can be done and possibly the day when we take small action. I was inspired by Sam Dunn 's post to take a small action to nominate Pathfinders Camp (Woodlarks) Registered Charity 1171466 for a chance to win £1000. A few months after volunteering with Pathfinder Camp, I still think of my experience often and planning my participation next summer. I know that £1000 will go a long way at the camp either by organising a fun activity or by ensuring lovely treats are there. Today I am reminded that we all can take a small action to support people around us.
