On Wednesday, China announced a #ban on the #export of #drones and related #military-use equipment. This joint statement was issued by the #CommerceMinistry, the #Customsdepartment, and the People’s Liberation Army’s equipment department. The decision follows criticism from the US and its allies, who have accused China of supplying military-grade exports to Russia, which has been at war with Ukraine since February 2022. What could be the possible implications of this ban? #ImpactonGlobalSupplyChains: As a major player in the #globaldrone manufacturing industry,, China’s restrictions could disrupt supply chains, particularly for countries and companies that rely on Chinese--made drones and components. #GeopoliticalTensions: The #ban comes amid heightened scrutiny from the #US & its allies over #China’s alleged support for #Russia in the #Ukraine conflict. This move may further strain relations between China and Western countries. #MilitaryandSecurityConcerns: By restricting the #export of high-precision and advanced drone #technologies, China aims to prevent their use in #militaryconflicts and #terroristactivities. This could impact the capabilities of countries that have been importing such technologies from China. #EconomicImpactonChineseCompanies: Chinese #drone manufacturers, like DJI, may face economic repercussions due to reduced export opportunities. However, these companies might also benefit from a clearer #regulatoryenvironment and potentially increased domestic demand. #TechnologicalAdvancements: The ban might push other countries to develop their own drone technologies to reduce dependence on #Chineseimports, potentially accelerating #innovation in the drone industry globally. Overall, this ban reflects China’s strategic move to safeguard its #nationalsecurity interests while responding to #internationalcriticism and maintaining control over #advancedtechnologies.. ?? #drone #export #droneban #defenceindustry #conflict

How to double your money in Indonesian trading company? As quoted from CNN indonesia, United States (US) imposed sanctions on #Indonesian businessman, Agung Surya Dewanto, for allegedly supplying drone or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) components to the Pishgam Electronic Safe Company (PESC) in #Iran. The perpetrator is now detained. It was estimated that the precision equipment that was exported can be used to assemble at least 100 units of drones. In my opinion, such case is quite rampant in Indonesia. Several years ago, Indonesian state owned aerospace company exported aircrafts parts to embargoed countries. Now, precision equipment is cheaper to make locally and Indonesia have trade agreement from countries known for higher technology as well. If global conflicts dragged out, this could brings more opportunities to Indonesian company as well.

✈️The Austrian company Diamond Aircraft is hiding data on buyers of aircraft engines that ended up in Russia. In June 2024, the Trap Aggressor project asked the Austrian company Diamond Aircraft to provide information about the buyers of two AE-300 E4-A engines manufactured by the company, indicating unique serial numbers. The engines of this type were identified by Trap Aggressor analysts in a Russian tender in 2024, as a result of which the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UCAP) supplied two engines of this type to the Ulyanovsk Civil Aviation Institute for a total of 510 thousand euros. UCAP is under US, EU and Ukrainian sanctions, and in Russia, in addition to manufacturing and repairing aircraft and components for it, the plant assembles and develops UAVs for the Russian armed forces, including Forpost and Zastava drones. Since 2023, the Ulyanovsk Institute of Civil Aviation, which announced a tender for Austrian engines in 2024, has been training UAV engineers. According to trade databases, the UCAP imported at least two identical Austrian engines to Russia in 2023 from the Chinese company Ningbo Peak Cloud Import And Export Co. At the same time, Diamond Aircraft itself is also owned by the Chinese holding company Wanfeng Auto Holding Group. Trap Aggressor asked Diamond Aircraft to inform us which company bought these two engines with unique serial numbers, which later ended up in Russia. Diamond Aircraft responded that it was conducting an internal investigation, but two months later it failed to inform Trap Aggressor of its findings. According to the Austrian media outlet Kronen Zeitung, the Austrian State Security and Intelligence Directorate has launched a preliminary investigation, possibly, into the supply of Diamond Aircraft products to Russia. https://lnkd.in/dPNXBzKe https://lnkd.in/dxcEUvQv

They are in control. China has updated its drone export controls, introducing stricter regulations on high-precision drone components, effective from September 1, 2024. This move comes amid growing global scrutiny over the use of Chinese drone technology in military and sensitive operations, particularly in conflict zones. The new rules are intended to prevent drones and their components from being used for military purposes, especially in light of concerns from Western nations. China's decision reflects its effort to balance international security concerns with its significant position in the global drone market.

#StatecraftInTheNews: Russia has set up a drone production program in China to develop long-range attack drones for use in Ukraine, according to European intelligence and documents reviewed by Reuters. IEMZ Kupol, a Russian state-owned subsidiary, tested the new Garpiya-3 (G3) drone in China with local help. The drones are being produced at scale in a Chinese factory for use in the war. Despite China’s denial of involvement, documents reveal Kupol's plan to produce UAVs. China’s supply of drones to Russia may escalate international tensions. Kupol also aims to produce a drone similar to the US Reaper with a 400 kg payload. This program could enable Russia to bypass Western sanctions and access advanced tech via China. Concerns grow as Russia plans to ramp up drone production, while China risks exposure to severe sanctions if its role in aiding Russia’s military is confirmed.

The government has started procurement of #UAVs and #FPV drones. This was stated by Defense Minister RUSTEM UMEROV at a closed meeting with representatives of the #G7 countries in #Kyiv, Censor.net.ua informs with reference to #ArmyInform. "We prioritize the direction of drones, we have established production, but we do not advertise it. We have a production plan, a financing plan," the minister said. RUSTEM UMEROV noted that Russia used such confidentiality to create a narrative that #Ukraine was incapable of producing drones. However, the Ministry controls production and has information about how many drones the army needs, where to produce them, and where to buy them. Also, according to the minister, the government has started purchasing UAVs and #FPV drones. Together with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they formed the needs for drones for 2024 - to ensure the one million drones announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The problem for #Ukraine is that parts for drones are exported to Russia to circumvent sanctions, noted RUSTEM UMEROV. Source: https://lnkd.in/d3esdssa
