Unpopular opinion on copywriting assignments I have lost count of the assignments I’ve completed just to land one job. Some of my assignments were indeed used in campaigns without my knowledge, which I discovered later… While others helped me make a mark! I’m glad that a few people are now breaking the cycle and introducing assignments that focus on measuring creative ability rather than exploiting creative output. But I know that no matter how refined your portfolio is, and no matter your position, You will always have to complete some sort of assignment to prove your mettle. Creativity is subjective. And organizations have different creative cultures. So, it’s best to give them a piece of what you can do in your own style. Question: What’s the hiring process in your industry? And if you are in creative itself…what is your last hiring/getting hired story? #copywriter
I am glad to see someone talking about this. Looking for an internship or a job, comes with a lot of assignments and sometimes the companies use your written copies and content without informing you or giving you credit.
The fact that they use the assignment work in real work without permission is just so annoying and frustrating. Assignment work should just be used to see and test the candidate and not be used in production.
That's new to me, although I knew about it, but till now I've had clients who led me follow my creativity Khushi Khare
