Here's a recent story I did on one our GAP School alumni!
Check out this story on GAP School Alumnus, Grace Ntibonera! From attending college on a full-ride scholarship, to starting his own nonprofit organization, to purchasing land in the Democratic Republic of Congo that will eventually be home to a community theatre space for his home country, Grace has been busy to say the least. “𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞. 𝐈𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞.” - 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 From times of hopelessness and struggle, we bring love, care, and the chance to learn. For many children, the classroom is more than a place to study—it’s a safe space where they can grow and dream. We focus on education because it’s the key to giving these children the skills they need to succeed. By educating them, we help them build brighter, stronger futures. Education is more than just learning; it brings hope and opens doors to new opportunities. These children, who may feel lost or forgotten, gain confidence and the chance to believe in a better tomorrow. Every lesson, every kind word, and every bit of support helps them grow into the strong, capable individuals they are meant to be. You can be part of this journey. Together, we can bring hope, happiness, and change to children’s lives. By supporting our cause, you help make the world a kinder and better place. Remember, change starts with one child at a time. Let’s make a difference together.

Please take a moment to reflect on the following message: The journey seems daunting. When you receive the news that your child has a condition that may present additional challenges to their growth, it feels like hope is slipping away. Our first instinct is to dive into problem-solving mode. We yearn to support our children in achieving what we perceive as a "normal" life. This roller coaster ride is filled with intense emotions, marked by significant progress and frustrating setbacks. Eventually, a sense of disillusionment creeps in, and you start searching for someone who can assure you that your child will attain the independence they deserve. You long for reassurance that things will get easier. Shepherds College has been a beacon of hope and inspiration for my family. I met a remarkable young woman named Bri. She's not just a friend; she's a living testament to what Abigail can achieve in her life. Beyond the support of her incredible parents, Shepherds College provided Bri with the environment she needed to flourish. Shepherds College is: - Accredited - Equipped to teach three vocational skills - Proven to assist 80% of its graduates in securing employment - Renowned for helping each student attain the appropriate level of independence - The nation's premier institution for educational programs tailored to young adults living with intellectual disabilities. Now, the outlook is one of hope and excitement! Today, with a small contribution to Shepherds, you can make a real difference in the lives of young individuals, empowering them to gain independence and confidence and become thriving contributors to their communities. Today is our chance to give back! Will you join me in making a financial contribution to help more young people seize the same opportunities that Bri has had? Can you believe it’s already back-to-school season? As many of us prepare our kids for school, let’s remember there are still hundreds of children worldwide who don’t have the opportunity to get an education. Over the next 22 days, The Fellowship is partnering with Compassion International to sponsor 750 children in August. Because it won’t only change those children’s lives, it’ll change our lives, too. We believe that captivating cultures are generous cultures. Imagine the ripple effect our generosity could inspire in the stories of everyone our organization touches. Here’s how you can get involved: 🤝 Support a child As an individual leader, personally sponsor a child this August. 📝 Support as an organization As an organization, dedicate some budget to sponsor several kids, assigning departments within your organization to write letters all year. Or, forward this email along to your whole organization with a note of encouragement. The best way to create a culture of generosity is to go first. Help us make a difference in children's lives today. This Children’s Day, I’m reflecting on how freedom and empowerment go hand in hand, not just for adults but for children too. As young professionals working to shape our lives, we know how important it is to take charge of our own dreams. The same applies to the next generation—they need encouragement to think independently, question boldly, and grow fearlessly. Empowering children doesn’t just mean giving them opportunities; it’s about inspiring them to create their own. It’s about teaching them that they have the power to take ownership of their future, just like we aimed to do in our own journeys. Let’s be the role models who encourage children to stand tall, dream big, and never stop struggling for their freedom—whether in education, choices, or ideas. After all, their courage today will define the society of tomorrow. 👉 Empowerment starts with us. Let’s inspire the next generation to take charge of their freedom. How are you empowering children or others around you? Let’s celebrate the spirit of Children’s Day by sharing ideas and making an impact!

🌟Where Impact Begins🌟 Sometimes, the start of something big feels subtle, a quiet kind of assurance that tells you: "this is the right direction". On Day 1 of Avondale Meadows Middle School's rollout of Bilingual Bridges, Ciara Jones, school principal, sent us a message of gratitude: "I wanted to extend a huge thank you and express my gratitude. Today is Day 1 of our Indiana Learns rollout with Bilingual Bridges, which has been amazing!" In those few words, there's a glimpse of the connection and impact we hope to bring as we partner with communities across Indiana. Because sometimes, in the work that matters most, you're not just laying down plans, you're investing in trust, in hope, in each other. 🌱 So tell us, what small beginnings are you grateful for today? Drop a comment below and let's honor the power of those early steps. #BilingualBridges #AvondaleMeadows #CommunityImpact #BuildingTrust #EducationalGrowth #StudentSuccess #PartnershipsThatMatter
