Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! ❄️ It's that time of the year again - snowflakes, New Year's celebrations, and the cozy charm of hot cocoa ☕️ But, we haven't forgotten our amazing teachers and their need for engaging classroom activities during this festive season. Here are some easy and exciting ideas for students of all ages: For Kids 👦🏼 🔠 Word Bingo: Give each child a bingo card filled with holiday-themed words. As the words are called out, kids mark them off. The first to complete their bingo, wins! For Teens 🧑🏻🎓 🌨️ Winter Crossword Puzzle: split into teams and race to complete a winter-themed crossword in English. Winners could get a small prize or a homework pass! For Adults 👩🏻 📖 Winter Vocabulary Challenge: Compete to create the most sentences using the provided winter-related English words and phrases. As we step into the new year, we wish you inspiration, a positive mood, and loads of fun emotions. Let your lessons be light, engaging, and informative 💫

Part of our classroom routine is singing the tidy up song. This encourages students to put back the materials in the bag/pouch as how it was given to them by the teacher. Moreover, it makes tidying up more encouraging.🍎💯 #classroommanagement #englishlanguagelearning #earlychildhoodeducation

Instructor, Lover of Universally Designed Learning, Reading Enthusiast, and in the habit of assisting others in finding solution after solution.
Coming across this video https://lnkd.in/eC3reX-5 from Ms Hazel (@teachengagingela) on TikTok was nice. Her templates shown in talking about using Hot takes, love songs or music in general and using short stories to practice skills like determining mood, tone, and theme for practicing before standarized tests is great. If I were still in the classroom and I saw this, I might look at it as a way to incorporate skill days or Do Nows (Bell ringers) for when a student comes in to class. This could also be a more engaging way to help students in intervention. So often students have the ability and are just not aware of it. They need a more relevant example using materials current to them in order to understand they have it. This video is not the only useful resource that she has, but her website carries some more free resources to assist ELA teachers in the classroom. There are items that need to be bought, but no one is asking you to buy anything. Check out what she has available for free. Here website is here: www.teachengagingela.com/ This would be a great resource for new teachers, veteran teachers looking to diversify their materials, and #transitioningteachers who need help with their burnout. I know that I will be spending more time going through what she offers in more detail to see what I can share with my teacher friends. #resources #ELAteacher #ELA #education
