The Business Career Fair hosted by OSU Career Services this fall was a huge success! With over 170 employers sharing details about internships and full-time opportunities, our MS BAnDS students had the chance to explore potential career paths. Companies from our Corporate Advisory Board were also present, interacting with students and providing valuable information about available roles. Our students made the most of this opportunity to network and explore their future careers. Last night I was fortunate to present a resume workshop to the University of Minnesota Duluth Rocketry Team. I wasn’t there to promote Cirrus. I wasn’t there to encourage these students to apply to my open internships. Yes, I wore my Cirrus polo and name tag but didn’t once mention what Cirrus does as an organization. This might seem backwards to hear from someone on a recruitment team. So, why? University and Industry partnerships are much more than standing in front of a group to only sell & build talent pipelines. They are to serve & support, to give back & share knowledge, to grow fellow institutions that support our WHOLE community. I hope that my fellow UMD bulldogs increased their confidence about resume writing last night, feel competent to show off their skillset next week at the UMD STEM Fest Career Fair, and know that someone in the community is in their corner, whether they become employed at Cirrus or not. I’m not an expert but was honored to share with my Alma Mater the lessons, tips, and experiences I’ve had in the last two and a half years reading student resumes. Just maybe these same students will come say hi at next week’s career fair. (I hope so!) UMD Alumni Here’s to empowering young talent, growing the next generation of leaders, and giving “hand ups” (not handouts) to those you care about. #communityrelations #engagement #partnerships #students #universityrelations #internships #cirrus

Day one of the four-day Fall Career & Internship Mega Fair at Rutgers University–New Brunswick is in the books! We in Career Exploration and Success at Rutgers University–New Brunswick were so excited to have so many people interested in today's event. We had over 2,500 candidates connect with over 100 employers today. Days 2, 3, and 4 have different employers (with few exceptions), and each remaining day has different types of opportunities represented. See you all tomorrow on day two of the fair, focusing on employers recruiting for engineering, technology, environment, food, and agriculture-related positions! Learn more at https://lnkd.in/eAuFmUk8 For those planning to visit the fair, remember that the event is only the start of the recruiting process and not the end. Use the time to make connections, gather contacts to reference in your application materials, get into their recruiting systems as a candidate of interest, try to get on their interview schedules, and ask about their future information sessions! Make the most of your experience. Don't forget to use your #MegaFastPass to bypass the long lines at check-in, assuming you participated in the various career fair prep programs or advising sessions where you could've earned one.

Today, I had the privilege of attending the 2024 STEM Career and Internship Fair at UC Santa Cruz. Engaging with recruiters and delving into discussions about potential job opportunities was an enriching experience. One proactive step I took prior to the event was applying for relevant positions in advance. By doing so, I ensured that recruiters had access to my resume and pertinent information, facilitating seamless conversations and maximizing the impact of our interactions. As I reflect on this experience, I recognize the importance of further proactive measures to enhance future career fair engagements. What other strategies do you recommend for maximizing the effectiveness of these events? Let's continue the discussion! #CareerFair #STEMOpportunities #ProactiveApproach

Very insightful seminar! I learned a lot of tips and tricks on how to assert myself better. After the seminar, I felt motivated and eager to apply these teachings.

From the first flight out of Denver to a late night at Prairie View A&M, yesterday was a blast! I got to present the ‘Launch with Confidence’ seminar for National Society of Black Engineers at Prairie View A&M University, kicking off at 7 PM and wrapping up around 9:15 PM (on a school night!). It was great to meet and speak with such an engaged group, answering questions and discussing topics like career fairs, building your network, and effective communication skills. Feeling nervous is normal, but the key is to lean into that discomfort and grow from it. Huge thanks to Diamondback Energy and Joanna Hord for partnering with me (Exec Crüe) to make an impact on these students! Looking forward to next time! #careeradvice #communicationskills #interns #nsbe #professionaldevelopment
