This is why I enjoy Survey; you have the opportunity to exercise integrity each day and the evidence to stand up confidently for what is right.

This man is correct, These things are integrity, this man is a Christian. The definition of integrity itself is flawed and no one can uphold its standard. I scoff in most circumstances people use the word. Have you ever seen somebody say “it breaks my heart“ then do an evil act. Have you been in a circumstance that someone else bears false witness, then you see somebody else stand next to them knowing well it is not true but backs them up. It happens every day. Even At Kiewit... Constructive criticism. The young are known for strength, Adults are known for balance, The elderly have wisdom, but you Kiewit are running the show backwards. Let’s put adults back in authority, You lose good people over these types of means and methods.

integrity…Having the courage to standing up for what you know is the right thing to do….our current landscape of corruption it is hard to do. I encourage every president to write there own corporate ethics policy…sign it…make everyone in your company sign it.. and most importantly lead by example and enforce it.

Integrity?? attached here as described from a forefather of business mindset. To me Integrity, for clients of course is easy to describe. BUT what about the other forms of relationships our social profiles touch? AND why does OUR integrity matter to THOSE people? Again to me… It means leaving your ego in the truck while we navigate how to support not only our direct work team, but others teams around us. YES 🙌 Asphalt is a tough business but does that mean we HAVE to be tough against other’s teams? The drum beat of we are better then everyone else, to me, feels a little old hat 🎩… We certainly don’t need to be tough minded against the teams outside of our market. In this modern age that could actually backfire more then inspire… I mean… How could that look from a large manufacturer’s position who wants to step into affiliate sales with successful social profiles? Would they rule out negative posts in search of more supportive content and engagement? That’s not something I’m sure of but it is something that could potentially interfere. I believe there’s a few great examples set by individuals people like Marvin Joles and business owners like Ryan Austin on boosting the industry with a overall sense of common decency, which for many others like them, boils down to common sense. Helping 🙌 hands attract more then a closed 👊 fist. So when I see attacking or overly boastful content it pales in comparison to the way I’ve seen the industry change since 2005. Another great guy, Cisco Barron had a post the other day about, (paraphrasing here), when we find ourselves in “envy” that may mean we have some work to do on ourselves, and that really reminded me of a time, not that long ago that I couldn’t look at others success the way I do now. If I’M winning, YOU’RE winning! And vice versa… We aren’t all that different. The industry gets stronger when we link hands 🤝and support the industry movement toward a more positive and YES still tough future 🎯

Is it sustainable engineering? I don't think so! 1. Water/hydraulic engineering - underestimated 2. Geotechnical engineering - underestimated 3. Structural engineering - overestimated As a client, would you be happy to buy this way designed bridge? Lack of holistic approach? What is your opinion? #sustainable #bridge #engineering
Kudos to the engineers who constructed this amazing bridge 😂😂🤣

Interesting perspective bucking the “rampant waterfront defeatism” in the U.S.: “Put bluntly, with the right shipyard sites, modern facilities, new fabrication methods and community support, America can re-build its long-abandoned record of shipbuilding prowess, and compete globally.” https://lnkd.in/gFnQq4Ab

Join us while we dive into the fascinating journey of modernizing Dry Dock No. 1 at Naval Base San Diego ⚓ Dry Dock No. 1 was built in 1942 to meet the Navy’s needs of its time, and after 80 years, it was time for an upgrade. The challenge was to prolong the service life of the dry dock and meet the Navy’s increasing demands for the future: to accommodate modern vessel types, renew and optimize the mechanical and electrical systems, and improve safety during the docking process. All in all, to enhance the dry dock’s overall reliability for decades to come. A few project highlights included: 🛠️ Urgent repairs for USS Howard in 2016 highlighted the need for Dry Dock No. 1 to provide space for the DDG-51 class vessel. The modifications to the dry dock, installing a so-called sonar dome pit, allow it to accept the DDG-51 destroyers equipped with a sonar dome under their keel. 🛠️ A new modern pump system optimizes performance for low water levels and allows for continuous operation. With the new pumps came operational system upgrades to the dry dock computer systems and controls. 🛠️ A trolley-based in-haul system greatly improves control of the docking process, making it safer and more efficient to dock modern vessels. 🛠️ The 84 micro piles beneath the graving dock were installed to compensate for the ballast concrete removed for the sonar dome to maintain the same safety margin for the dry dock. Curious to learn more? Follow the link below to an article prepared by our marine infrastructure expert Henrik Dahl and Victor Tirado, PE from GHD on how this successful project is part of the importance of continuous maintenance and upgrades for aging US Navy shipyard infrastructures, ensuring long-term stability in fleet operations in North America 👇 https://lnkd.in/dgHMxG9M Pic credit: GHD
