As I observe the modern fitness landscape, I can't help but notice the disconnect between the mind/body experience of exercise and the distractions that infiltrate our workouts. From incessant cell phone talking & scrolling to mindlessly watching TV screens, we've lost touch with the true essence of movement and its potential for holistic healing. Pushing through pain and discomfort without listening to our bodies only perpetuates this cycle of disconnection. And well, you know how I feel about mouth breathing. This on perpetuates all of the above and a complete disconnect from the experience of BE'ing in your body. SIMPLE RULE OF THUMB: IF YOU CAN'T CONTROL YOUR BREATHING IN THE MOVEMENT, YOU'RE NOT FACILITATING GOOD HEALTH. SORRY, DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER. It's time to reclaim the true purpose of exercise – not as a means to an end, but as a sacred practice that nurtures our physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
