RMA team members were honored to participate in the Grand Opening event for Mayla Pompano, and I was delighted to join leadership from Broward County and the City of Pompano Beach along with the developers, Grover Corlew, for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Mayla Pompano marks a significant milestone in Pompano Beach's redevelopment. Strategically situation between US 1 and the Intracoastal, this luxury residential community is a testament to the visionary leadership of the City and its CRA. This once overlooked area is now thriving thanks to the Grand Opening of the first market rate rental project within the East CRA District boundaries. Mayla Pompano is adjacent to two Grover Corlew owned and managed Class A office complexes, a commercial mixed-use project currently undergoing a $25 million dollar redevelopment, which includes exterior and office renovations and the addition of ground floor retail, restaurants and plaza areas to complement the Mayla Pompano lifestyle-oriented community. Enabled by the East CRA District's strategic use of tax increment financing, Mayla Pompano is poised to not only revitalize the neighborhood but also contribute substantially to the local economy. Vistry Group has secured planning approval to build 140 new homes in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, in partnership with Places for People. This £31m development will provide a mix of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes, including 83 affordable properties, designed to meet the growing housing needs of the area. Construction will start in Spring 2025, with homes built using modern methods of construction to reduce carbon emissions, supporting both sustainability and community growth. The development will also offer green open spaces and be located within walking distance of the historic 11th-century Earl Shilton Castle. Andy Reynolds MD of Vistry South East Midlands, said: “We are thrilled to have secured planning permission to start work on these much-needed mixed-tenure homes in the historic town of Earl Shilton. We took a bold step when we purchased a derelict pub at the end of Billericay High Street, recognising both the challenges and the potential of this prime location. The property had seen better days, but we saw a chance to revitalise it, breathe new life into a neglected part of town, and create something truly special.
