Did you know that Mountain Dew was originally created as a mixer to liquor? Tennessee bottlers Barney and Ally Hartman developed the then non-caffeinated drink in the 1940s to improve the taste of whiskey. In fact, Mountain Dew was Irish slang for moonshine or homemade whiskey. That said, it only makes sense for this fizzy favorite to be a key ingredient to this cocktail recipe. Ingredients: 1 oz Vodka 1 oz Peach Schnapps 1 oz Blue Curacao Mountain Dew Instructions: Fill a glass with ice. In a shaker, combine the vodka, peach schnapps and blue curacao. Shake well. Pour the mixture into the glass. Top it off with Mountain Dew. Garnish with a lime. Revel in the citrus and fruity combination.

How about wine thanksgiving cocktails? The following 8 wine cocktails can be served with sweet or savory dishes (perfect for fowl, fish, or beef). What makes them work is the judicious use of herbs. You'll discover that cinnamon, like nutmeg, can punch up a dish or drink but does not necessarily sweeten it. Check out my blog post https://wix.to/dyjpfnn #newblogpost

It's cold outside!! 🥶 So here is my recipe for a perfect Glühwein to keep you warm. :) Glühwein is a warm spiced red wine or mulled wine. It is my favorite winter drink and it takes 10 minutes to prepare! Enjoy! Ingredients: Bottle of red wine of your choice 1 cup of sugar 1 orange (sliced) 1 cinnamon stick Add a cup of sugar in a sauce pan. Caramelize it over medi (um heat until golden brown. Pour in wine. Stir it until all the sugar is dissolved. Reduce the heat, add orange slices and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil and remove from the stove. Pour into mugs and enjoy!! Ps. Boling off the mulled wine for a longer time will result in a non-alcoholic version.

Your beer packs more calories than a burger! 🍔 Shocked? Drinking smart starts with knowing what’s in your glass. Here’s a calorie breakdown that might just change your next drink order! 1️⃣ Beer: A pint packs 208 calories—equal to a full meal! Next time, sip with caution. 2️⃣ Whisky: A 30 ml neat pour has just 71 calories, but mixers can push that number way up! 3️⃣ Wine: Red wine has 85 calories per glass, and white wine is a tad lighter at 82 calories. Sip smarter! 4️⃣ Vodka: Surprisingly light—30 ml vodka has only 65 calories. Mix with soda and lime for a guilt-free cocktail! Daily Dollop Wallop #77 Easy one for today on this soggy Monday afternoon (psych)! It's a question actually. So here goes... Why do we CHOOSE to drink bad #wine? Yes, yes and yes. Ultimately, after quite the heated debate over the weekend with some mates, we sort of concluded that drinking mucky, bad quality juice is indeed a choice and one that we appear to be content with. Even when budget only permits a certain amount dedicated to the purchase of a bottle of giggle juice, a lot of the time, we tend to choose the cheapest, just because it's the cheapest - irrespective of its #origin. I know full well that at times, it doesn't matter and the wine just acts as a tonic to a shite day at work, for example. And so, the quality of the wine or the taste experience is minor if not completely redundant. Even so, we seem to choose to drink nasty gear way too often. Am I being to narrow here? Just bugs me a bit. Leverage your #beverage.
