How many applications have you ignored thinking that they woud’nt bring your company any value because they lack the experience for the role? How many applicants have you turned down just because you don’t think they have the qualities you are looking for? Ask yourself this: What if I hired that person? What if I had given chance to that person? What changes would that person had made in my company if only I choose to give that person a chance to prove himself/herself? 3 years ago, one of the most difficult time of my life came. Covid hit and I am left with no work since our company had to cease our operation temporarily. I was anxious and scared. My anxiety was at its peak thinking what would I bring to the table for my family. Not to mention that I just had given birth that time. I know I had to do something and the only thing I had in mind was to apply online and become a virtual assistant. I was a program manager and the only skills I had that time aside from supervising a group of people is doing research and data entry. So I spent months and months of learning everything I need to learn in the virtual world. And when I was finally ready, I applied. After hundreds of applications, there was this one person who finally noticed my application. He was looking for a contracting specialist for his insurance agency but all he found was a newbie in the virtual world with zero experience in insurance industry. He even told me that my verbal communication is that not good. But still he gave me a chance. He hired me and taught me everything I need to learn in insurance field particularly in contracting works. Today, I am now the one who train people on the contracting side. And I am so grateful for that one person who gave me that chance to make all this possible. To all agency owners, don’t be afraid to hire people who don’t have yet the skills you are looking for. As long as they are willing to learn, go ahead and take them in. Its not only them you are helping, but you are also giving your agency/company a chance to bring out its best through them. #SureLCspecialist #InsuranceSpecialist #ContractingSpecialist #DataEntrySpecialist
