Celebrating #NationalDisabilityIndependenceDay today! 🎉 The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in many areas of public life. Creating accessibility is a path to the "E" in DEI = equity. It's not complicated to be fair, but it does require conscious, deliberate, and strategic thinking. As an OD | DEI | HR practitioner, I find that using universal design concepts is one way of driving our world and workplaces to be fair and kind to all people. #equity #fairness #freedom #inclusion #consciousculture #universaldesign #humankindness

Did you know? July is Disability Pride Month. While this is not recognized as a national holiday, July marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) legislation that opened the door to a more inclusive society. For some, Disability Pride Month is recognizing your disability and loving who you are for it; others celebrate the wins in learning to navigate their disability; or some show their support by just listening and elevating disabled voices. Take time this month to reflect, celebrate, and continue to uplift and include those with disabilities at work and in your community. #ADA #DisabilityPrideMonth #HRConsulting #DiversityAndInclusion
