As we navigate through the business world, we often face unique challenges and barriers that can hinder our growth and success. However, there is a powerful tool that can help us break through these barriers and reach new heights: mentorship. Having a mentor can make all the difference in our entrepreneurial journey. They can offer valuable insights, guidance, and support as we navigate through uncharted territories. They can also provide us with the necessary tools and resources to thrive in a competitive market. But mentorship is especially crucial for BIPOC women entrepreneurs. As we continue to face systemic barriers and lack representation in the business world, having a mentor who understands our struggles and can offer tailored guidance can be a game-changer. So to all my fellow BIPOC women entrepreneurs, I urge you to seek out mentorship opportunities. Whether it's through formal programs or informal relationships, having a mentor can propel you forward and help you reach your goals. And to those who have the privilege of being a mentor, I encourage you to pay it forward and uplift the next generation of BIPOC women entrepreneurs. Remember, mentorship is a powerful tool that can break down barriers, open doors, and pave the way for success. Read more about how important mentorship is: https://lnkd.in/gcz7YAVm

Today, I want to talk about something that's close to my heart, the power of mentorship and the critical role of role models in shaping the journeys of women in business. Throughout my career, the guidance and wisdom of mentors have been invaluable. They've not only helped me navigate complex business challenges but also inspired me to reach higher and dream bigger. This is especially vital for women in the entrepreneurial world, where role models can highlight paths that might otherwise seem unattainable. Mentorship isn't just about giving advice. It's about listening, understanding, and empowering. It's about being a sounding board for ideas and a source of encouragement during tough times. Effective mentors don't just guide; they inspire confidence and foster independence, allowing mentees to find their unique voices and paths to success. This brings me to an important question: How can we, as established female business women become effective mentors to support and uplift the next generation of female entrepreneurs? Sharing our experiences and wisdom can create a supportive network that not only helps individual mentees but also strengthens female entrepreneurship in its entirety. Your insights could help guide an aspiring or established entrepreneur towards her path to success. #DishaSolanki #Mentorship #WomenInBusiness #EmpoweringWomen #NextGenLeaders #RoleModels

A new study published in Marketing Science by Dr. Stephen J. Anderson from Mays Business School explores the influence of gender-matched mentorship on female entrepreneurs in developing economies. The insights are staggering: 💡 Female entrepreneurs paired with female mentors saw a 32% increase in sales and 31% increase in profits, showcasing the power of relatable guidance and support. 💡The positive effects of female mentorship were even more significant for entrepreneurs with high aspirations, underlining the scalability of mentorship impact. 💡Mentorship by male counterparts did not yield similar improvements for female entrepreneurs, highlighting the unique benefits of gender-matched mentorship in this context. This research is not only a call for successful female business leaders to recognize their impact and engage in mentorship programs, but it also serves as a significant step towards understanding and fostering inclusive entrepreneurship. Our Mentor Project: Women Supporting Women One of the most powerful things we do is our Mentor Project—a life-changing initiative that connects women who want to reduce, take a break, or stop drinking with mentors who truly understand. These women have walked the same path, made changes in their own lives, and are now trained to support others on their journey. No judgment, just understanding Support from someone who gets it Practical, proven strategies to help you take control And the best part? It works. We never struggle to find amazing women willing to become mentors. There’s always high demand from those seeking a mentor. Both mentors and mentees gain so much from the experience. It’s truly a win-win. Right now, we have a waiting list, but more mentors will be available soon. Watch this space! #SupportNotJudgment #WomenSupportingWomen #TakeControl #AlcoholFreeLiving

Recently got a chance to share my thoughts as a speaker. I was all set to talk about business storytelling. But as I walked in, I saw something that prompted me to speak about something else close to my heart – women in entrepreneurship. That’s because on that line up of speakers, of some incredibly talented entrepreneurs… …I was the only woman! That got me thinking. We as a community are so proud to educate our daughters. As it should be, because education after all, opens the doors. And our girls always do us proud – topping their batches, acing competitive exams and proving themselves over and over again. But what next? 🚀Do we really see them as business leaders of tomorrow? 🚀Do we encourage their entrepreneurial spirit? 🚀Do we trust them to go big – or expect them to play small? 🚀We educate them – but do we really invest in them? So I drew upon my wealth of knowledge and a lifetime of experience in this domain – and that’s what I shared my thoughts on, when I got to the stage. As we celebrate #IndependenceDay today, let us not just pay homage to our hard won freedoms of the past. Let’s make financial freedom a little bit easier on our women.

Living on the Coach-Consultant Hyphen: Reflections on a Hybrid Program for Women Entrepreneurs By: Dr. Kimberly Cantergiani, PCC & Patrice Rosenthal The term living on a hyphen denotes a hybrid identity that seeks to integrate two distinct roles, knowledge sets, and value systems. We share practitioner experience of an attempt to live on the coaching-consultant hyphen in a program for women entrepreneurs. The program was designed for intentional shifts between coaching and consulting and for these helping modes to remain clear and distinct across the 6-month engagement. This kind of practice contrasts with much professional guidance, especially on the coaching side, which maintains the importance of staying in the coaching lane. We explain our reasons for the hybrid approach in relation to this client group. This hybrid practice was more involving and demanding than single-mode work, requiring the development of more complex and authentic relationships with clients. We share our learning and call for research to clarify the conditions and capacities necessary to work effectively on the coaching-consulting hyphen.
