Training Spotlight: API 570 Pressure Piping Inspector Exam Preparation The API 570 Pressure Piping Inspector ICP program is a great certificate to obtain. It is a highly employable certification, and many employers look for inspectors who have this certificate or can get it. In some jurisdictions, such as Alberta, Canada, the API 570 is a gateway certification to jurisdictional certification as well. This is a challenging examination, which includes the use of eleven reference documents. (5 ASME Codes, 1 API Code, and 5 API Recommended Practices) Kinetic offers 3 different course options to prepare for this examination. A 6-day Live Webinar: https://lnkd.in/gT45Wmbk Evening Classes: https://lnkd.in/gAeFaYbu Self-Study: https://lnkd.in/gbknREVd To write this exam, you need to meet the experience requirements and get permission from API. The exam is written three times per year, and there is a deadline to apply for each exam window. Once you have permission to write, you need to book your actual examination appointment through the testing company Prometric. The link to the API 570 program on the API website is here: https://lnkd.in/dU3y9WB #api510 #api570 #api653 #api1169 #api1184 #construction #naturalgas #oilindustry #training #pipelines #oilandgasindustry #inspector #pipeline #consultants #engineering #peakoil #oilgas #energy #onlinetraining #classroomtraining #hydrocarbons #webinar #onlinecourses #qaqc #maintenance #refinery #oilandgas #ndt #qualitycontrol #nationalboard

Which API certification should you pursue? API 510, API 570, or API 653? I saw a post today where a training organization (which I shall not name) stated that the API 570 Pressure Piping Inspector certification was the one to do first. I completely disagree. I have said for years that the API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector is the one to get first, provided you have the required experience. My reasons: 1. It has a wider application than the API 570. For example, if you are in the province of Alberta, if you have an API 510 certificate, you can write the jurisdictional examination and be granted an ABSA ISI (Pressure Vessels and Pressure Piping) certificate. If you only have a 570 when you write the ABSA exam you only get the ISI (Pressure Piping) certification. 2. Many of the concepts (impact testing and WPS review) along with about a third of the documents are similar between the 510 and 570 examinations, in fact the examinations are very similar in difficulty level and passing stats published by API, so it makes sense to do the one that gives you the widest application. A 510 certificate is a great foundation to build on. 3. Employment and money - generally the 510 is a more employable certification, whether you are looking at shutdowns, permanent inspector positions, or contract positions. I personally have made far more money with my 510 than any of my other API certificates. If you are unsure of which API certification to pursue, make sure you research the following points: - Do you have the required experience? - What other certificates do I want to add to this? - Where do I want to work? Not all certificates are applicable to all jobs. Reach out to us to discuss this and any other exam preparation question. Message us here, or call Todd at 780-213-0292. #api510 #api570 #api653 #api1169 #construction #naturalgas #oilindustry #training #pipelines #oilandgasindustry #inspector #pipeline #consultants #engineering #peakoil #oilgas #energy #onlinetraining #classroomtraining #hydrocarbons #webinar #onlinecourses #qaqc #maintenance #refinery #oilandgas #ndt #qualitycontrol #nationalboard

Instrumentation & Control @ Dpstar | Mechanical Fresh Graduate @ Universiti Malaya | PDRM SUKSIS - Inspektor KS | Project, Design, Process & Maintenance Engineering Scopes
This post is truly useful for fresh graduates who are working on their roadmap in the selected engineering niche such as oil and gas. It is widely noted that engineering is a wide scope discipline. We can start in any industries which we have been offered, yet determining the highest level we can be is more critical. This effort will direct our passion and available skillset to a position that aligns with our strength and long-term goals such as having 5 figures in our monthly paycheck. Holding American Petroleum Institute (API) certificates is one of the considerations we should craft on our career map for a better future portfolio. Vibration Analyst (CAT I to IV), CSWIP and ISO are other kinds of professionals authorization we should survey when joining the industry. Therefore, completing the bachelor degree is not our finishing line. I am encouraging my peers to expand their network to learn the basic terms, codes, standards and applications practiced in these professional certificates. It can be done by joining professional WhatsApp or Telegram groups. As the outcome, we can develop a value of continuous learning in our daily to-do lists. #CPD #engineering #freshgraduate
