Can #Green #Tea be Consumed with an #Iron #Deficiency? — — — — No, green tea must not be consumed if you suffer from #irondeficiency. It’s true that green tea is a source of #antioxidants that contribute to good health and weight management. Nevertheless, you should not consume green tea if you are, or suffer from :  Hepatic disorder, Iron deficiency,  Pregnant,  Breast-feeding. Why not? Because green tea contains polyphenols. Those molecules have a high affinity for metal ions and form an insoluble complex with iron in the digestive tract. The result is a reduction in body’s absorption of iron. People suffering from iron-deficiency anaemia should therefore be warned not to drink green tea. https://lnkd.in/ez2ArV-B
