🌟 Highlight Abilities Not Experience 🌟 The hiring systems built in the 20th century are failing us, and causing us to miss out on people with incredible potential. Instead, here are the tools & strategies we need to identify tomorrows high performers: 1️⃣ Expand your search! 2️⃣ Hire for performance! 3️⃣ Get the bigger picture! If you're hiring a data analyst, give them a spreadsheet of historical data and ask them for their key insights. If you're a canidate, don't wait for an employer to ask. Seek out ways to showcase your unique skills and abilities outside of just the standard resume and cover letter. 🙌 "Let's stop equating experience with ability, credentials with competence. Let's stop settling for the safe, familiar choice and leave the door open for someone who could be amazing. We could live in a world where people are seen for what they are truly capable of, and have the opportunity to realize their full potential." Dear Hiring Managers, I’d like to share a perspective that I believe could be valuable for your hiring process. While resumes, portfolios, and years of experience are important metrics, they often don’t fully capture the raw potential and unyielding passion that entry-level analysts bring to the table. Junior data analysts, though newer to the field, offer fresh perspectives, a strong willingness to learn, and an intense dedication to their craft. Our enthusiasm and drive can lead to innovative approaches and creative solutions that might not be evident from traditional evaluation criteria. By giving entry-level candidates a chance to prove their abilities through practical trials or initial projects, you could discover untapped talent and foster a dynamic, motivated team member who is eager to contribute and grow. This approach not only opens doors for emerging professionals but also enriches your team with diverse, enthusiastic talent ready to make a significant impact. With gratitude, Ifeomachukwu Ugwa. PS: If you found this encouraging, share to encourage others as well 😊

Recruiter: Posts Director of Data role, at over £110,000 + specific experience in Healthcare/Pharma required Candidate (1 year of experience as a Business Analyst): Applies to role Recruiter: Sorry you don't fit the requirements of this role Candidate: Why not? It is important to look through the role requirements before spending your time on completing an application If you are applying to roles that require over 10 years of experience when you only have 1, experience in a specific industry that you haven't been close to, experience managing when you've just started your career; you cannot expect in-depth feedback about why your application failed It is important to be hopeful but to also be realistic It might be worth applying to roles where you fit 70-80% of the requirements if it is a position you are really after and have a genuine interest in But if you are spending time making 400 applications to roles that don't align with your experience by more than 5%, it might be time to review your search targets/methods #applying #jobsearching #jobhunting

👨💻After three rounds of interviews for a Data Base Manager & Reports Analyst role with a California-based company, I received the news today that another candidate was selected without giving any reasons 🤯 When you come this close, your hopes are high – you envision yourself in that role, enjoying the work culture, benefits, and growth opportunities. 🥴While it's disappointing, I choose to see this as a stepping stone and an opportunity to learn. 😬 Every interview is a chance to grow, refine skills, and prepare for the next big opportunity. 🥳Here's to staying positive and moving forward! 💪 #Mondayblues #InterviewPrep #hiring #opentowork #DataAnalytics #BusinessIntelligence 💔💔

The Real Cost of Experience: You Pay More for Less Dynamism. By requiring several years of experience for a junior position, you’re investing in more expensive profiles that may bring less innovation and freshness than new talents. Experience is important, but is it always a good investment for the cost? I am Nicolas, a Data Analyst with passion and up-to-date skills. Rather than paying a premium for years of experience, why not invest in a dynamic talent ready to go above and beyond and offer an excellent return on investment? Optimize your recruitment spending. Choose to recruit talents who will bring real value and innovation, without the added cost of years of experience. #Recruitment #DataAnalyst #CostOfExperience #ReturnOnInvestment

I help international students and immigrant job seekers in Australia secure amazing job offers | Grad Careers | Career Coach | Message me to book your free job search clarity call | LinkedIn Top Voice
So, we’ve had 3 mentees who have secured a role in the last 3 days; data analyst, architectural assistant, and biotech research assistant. Here's what worked: The data analyst applied for a role with 3 years' experience when she had never worked as a paid full time Data Analyst before. Architectural assistant kept reaching out to a director, sending her updated portfolio every few months. Biotech grad reached out to the hiring manager on LinkedIn because the job portal had closed a day before. You know what’s common in these 3 stories? They pushed past job descriptions, ignored timelines, and were persistent. For some reason, we’re wired to believe that success comes from being perfect. It doesn’t; it comes from being scrappy.
