Our team got together for lunch in Dubai this week, with people flying all the way in from Jordan and Belarus to join our Dubai mafia (though we were still missing some of our International mates). It's always special to connect over great food and even better conversations. Now, back to building. ✌🏾

I have to admit, sometimes I can be forgetful—or even a little blind—to the most important things in life. But recently, my daughter brought home a drawing from school that really made me stop and think. It was a simple drawing of an ice cream parlor, but what stood out was this "VIP cone" she made, topped with the UAE flag. In her innocent way, she reminded me of something so important: the need to acknowledge our foundation—our land. This land isn’t just where we live. It’s where my kids were born, where my family has grown, and where I’ve been lucky enough to build a life. The UAE has given us so much—safety, structure, resilience, and the opportunity to dream big. It’s a place we can count on. But, here’s the thing: in the rush of life, it’s so easy to forget the basics. The most fundamental truths are often the ones we overlook. And just like this country teaches us to value our foundation, I think it’s a reminder for us to reflect on the basics in our own lives too. So, here’s my question for you: 👉 Are you really acknowledging the basics in your relationships? 👉 When was the last time you truly appreciated your inner circle—your partner, your family, your team? If you haven’t, maybe today is the day to start. Take a moment to say thanks, to acknowledge the people who form the foundation of your life. As we celebrate UAE National Day, let’s honor not just the land we call home, but also the connections and partnerships that ground us every single day. Here’s to being grateful for the basics, appreciating our foundation, and celebrating what truly matters. 🇦🇪 #UAENationalDay #Gratitude #Basics #Relationships #Partnerships

Yesterday due to adverse weather situation all over the country, certain news channels have published the title line “UAE witnesses largest rainfall over past 75 years” which caused questions from residents as well as tourists as everyone knows that UAE is turning 53 years old only this year. However, the history of the country begins long before the unity day. As actually the history of any country in the world before their own independence. And as a person who is extremely proud and grateful to the UAE for the opportunities it gave me, inspired by true leadership and vision of our rulers, I wanted to share a bit of knowledge with everyone on certain facts of region developments and local history, as a brief educational material. Diving a bit deeper into the life in Gulf, the more precised history started from the existence of Trucial States, which was formed from all existing 7 Emirates today, in a timeline from 1820 till 1971 under the British Protectorate. Each Emirate has its own ruling family which remains in rulership until today as we know it. A British decision, taken in early 1968, to withdraw from its involvement in the Trucial States, led to the decision to found a Federation. This was agreed between two of the most influential Trucial Rulers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum of Dubai. The two rulers invited other Trucial Rulers to join the Federation. At one stage it seemed likely Bahrain and Qatar would also join the Union of Arab Emirates, but both eventually decided on independence. Today, the UAE is a modern, oil exporting country with a highly diversified economy. It’s a country of future. Abu Dhabi is my home not by place of birth, but by place in my heart. And I am very proud to develop tourism in the destination and share the excitement of Emirate development. 🇦🇪
