Founder & CEO at Moxxy | IFPA Board Member & Chair of Marketing Council | Creating success and growth for brands in fresh and better-for-you foods, agriculture and AgriFoodTech.
Reading Joe’s post this morning brought back fond memories of how we chose the name Moxxy Marketing for our agency. We used our own brand discovery process on ourselves, first listing all the qualities and attributes that describe us individually and as a team, keeping in mind how those qualities bring value to our clients and communities. Then we began concepting words that evoked those qualities. Moxie was at the top the list, along with several other words, but we kept coming back to moxie as the word that resonated most. The definition we found at the time, which was on our very first website (linked in comments): 1. vigor; verve; energy 2. courage; determination 3. skill; know-how Spelled m-o-x-I-e was too expected and common. So we began playing with the spelling, to assure our name met the definition of a strong brand: - unique / distinctive - memorable - authentic / believable - relevant / appealing - enduring - defensible / ownable We decided m-o-x-x-y looked right and met the definition of a strong brand. And my ego like the fact that there are 2 z‘s in my last name and 2 x’s in Moxxy 😂😇. We’ve been Moxxy for 11 years (though the agency is 17 years old), and we have received compliments and accolades on our name and branding from the start. Brand development has always been one of our core services, and an expertise I’ve been providing to clients for more than 25 years. It’s my favorite practice area! Joe, thank you for giving me a platform to share this fun memory and our story! #getmoxxy #branding #branddevelopment #brandmarketing Terry Feinberg Leanne Salandro

While spending time in New England as we do each year at this time. We have had many wonderful experiences which remind us of why we first fell in love with this region of the country years ago. In so much, having dinner at this local tapas restaurant in Portsmouth NH., the name of the restaurant is Moxy, a tapas restaurant, which we enjoy so much. On the menu is the definition of the word Moxy...it struck me. Had I not been fearless, and had I not had the gusto to take a chance on what I believed in way back when...where might I be today. Nothing has changed but it's good to know I had the #moxy to challenge myself and to do it with #gusto and #fearlessness.

Leadership tip: If you don’t think reputation is important, try remembering the last advert you’ve seen for a Chinese restaurant.

Ironically posted this article the same day as Jay Ashton 🇨🇦🍁 posted this video clip... Sugar CAN be a part of a reward system within our brain - giving us a quick burst of energy, signalling a dopamine release, and often providing a sense of comfort. Unfortunately, excess intake of refined sugars and processed fatty foods can increase hunger and cravings in our body - quickly leading to overconsumption of ultra-processed, nutrient-lacking foods. When we consume low fiber highly processed foods, we get an initial surge of energy (rapid increase in blood sugars), followed by a crash in energy (rapid decrease in blood sugars). When our blood sugar drops, our body then craves more energy --> typically a quick source of energy (sugar)... If we continuously have a high intake of sugar/processed food, we increase our likelihood of developing diet-related medical conditions such as: insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, T2 diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, etc. Here's a brief article I wrote about how to help yourself conquer sugar cravings: https://lnkd.in/gzPhUeUh P.S. If you're looking to conquer cravings & reduce hunger with a science-based method developed by Dr David Ludwig, MD (as written in his book, Always Hungry?), I am hosting a 3-Week FREE Always Hungry?
