Meta's use of public Instagram and Facebook posts to train its AI promises significant improvements in AI capabilities and user interactions. And while this technological leap is compelling, it raises critical privacy concerns. Can users opt out of this data collection? It depends. Where European users benefit from stricter privacy regulations that allow them to opt out, the U.S has less stringent privacy laws – revealing a stark disparity in data protection that is highly dependent on location, rather than consistent, universal standards. Have you been using Reddit? Reddit is introduced as a two-track Wikipedia service. For some, Reddit offers the space to talk to like-minded people “with nothing to gain outsid of sharing But what is interesting is that Google is using Reddit data to train its AI models. 👇 Google acknowledges that people often turn to Reddit for advice on topics such as product recommendations and travel advice. It signed a deal with Reddit in February to use Reddit data to train its artificial intelligence, while Reddit can use Google’s AI models to enhance its own search results. (Reddit has a similar deal with OpenAI.)
