At Ellipsis Education, we’ve been thinking a lot about how we can help Texas educators with the new Technology Applications TEKS. 💭 We’ve talked with a few districts who are trying to understand the changes to the standards, but there aren’t a lot of resources online to help with that. So, we made one. Check out our latest post (linked in comments), where we break down the key differences between the 2011 and 2022 Technology Applications Standards. There’s even a chart that shows the strands side-by-side. For what they're worth, here are my hot takes: 🔥 Computer science has formally made its way into Texas standards. 🔥 What we've done in the past to address the Tech Apps TEKS simply won't cut it. 🔥 Tech Apps is growing up as a content area, much like we saw science do in the early 2010's. The next few years will be critical in defining quality implementations of Tech Apps. Read the post and let me know - what are your thoughts?
