Last week, we were honoured to welcome Sharon De-Leonardis to Kirklees College for an impactful workshop that explored the lasting impact of slavery, while celebrating the resilience and achievements of those who continue to strive for an equitable future. 🌟 On Wednesday 22 January, students accompanied the performance of Sharon’s play Rise of the Empress, which was fully booked! The play delves into themes of belonging, heritage, self-discovery, and resilience, encouraging the audience to challenge stereotypes and expand their understanding of the diverse narratives that shape Black British life. These events reflect our ongoing commitment to becoming an anti-racist organisation, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. Let’s continue to unite, celebrate hope, and work towards a brighter tomorrow, fighting racial inequalities and modern slavery together. 💪🏽✨ Read all about the event here 👉 https://shorturl.at/0xlhy

2moIt was my pleasure to come and have an honest conversation with your students. It's important that we are allowed to share our personal experiences to get a real understanding of how the world is the way it is. It's time for change and it's all of our responsibilities to educate ourselves and each other.
