Worldwide, 740 million women don’t have access to traditional financial services like bank accounts and credit. This can make it difficult for women to start and grow their own business. But lending to women is a win-win. Research shows that women are more likely to invest their earnings and in ways that have a long term impact on their families and communities. Did you know that women in Canada were only granted the right to open bank accounts without a male co-signer in the 1960s? And it wasn't until the 1970s that women could apply for credit cards in their own name. While progress has been made, there is still work to do. Women need to demand more from the financial industry and take control of their own financial futures. This means asking for more information, seeking out female financial advisors, and advocating for equal treatment regarding loans, investments, and other financial services. We believe in empowering women to take charge of their finances and offer personalized financial planning services tailored to meet the unique needs of women. Village banks have made access to finances easy for women in rural communities who are far away from financial institutions and also create a sense of togetherness among the women. Women are able to decide their interest rates that favour their financial muscle, pay back their loans in 3 months period and have easy access to funds incase of an emergency. #financialinclusion #accesstofinances #womeninfinance #sustainme #financialindependence #financialempowerment

Great to see a room full of women discussing the small business / entrepreneurial landscape in Alberta, particularly some of the challenges with early-stage financing and navigating this as women and minorities. Thank you Alberta Women Entrepreneurs for organizing this roundtable discussion with the Government of Alberta and offering support, community, education and small business loans to many of these women-led ventures. #womeninbusiness #albertabusiness #capitalmarkets #debtadvisory

Career and Business Coach to South Asian Women looking to increase their confidence and clarity on their career journey
My latest newsletter is out today on why it may be more difficult for South Asian women to deal with and talk about #money. This topic was inspired by conversations with my husband about who controls finances and what would happen if one of us passed away. It may seem morbid, but I believe in being prepared for the worst and empowering myself to learn more about personal finances and how to manage and generate wealth, something that seemed out of reach for a while. Let me know what you think. #finances #empoweringwomen #southasianwomen

Did you know that according to the SLEI Survey and the 2023 Research Report (link in the comments) by the LBAN/Latino Business Action Network, female Latina-owned businesses face a significant hurdle when it comes to accessing credit or loans? Shockingly, despite being the most proactive in seeking financing with a whopping 35% seeking support (see chart below), 17% of them report access to credit or loans as their major challenge — numbers much higher than what's reported by Latinos and White women (9%) or White men (7%). Such report also reveals that Latino(a)-owned businesses with employees have experienced more rapid growth compared to their peers, considering revenue, the number of businesses, employee count, and payroll. Perhaps not everyone can see yet but there's an awakening happening, and access to credit is frankly only the tip of the iceberg. The way investors, sponsors, and strategic partners address such these relevant gaps and inequalities will define their position and shares in the next season of economic growth in the Latin communities — particularly among Latina-owned businesses! Do not miss out! ¡Ojo! #Latinaentrepreneurs #smallbusinesses #ecosystemsolutions #acceleration #socialentrepreneurship #lban #impactinvesting #positiveimpact

Who runs the household? Who manages the household finances? Our wives, our mothers. Yet, 82% of Pakistani women don’t have bank accounts. Women are the backbone of our families and play a vital role in our economy. They manage household budgets and often stretch limited resources to meet the needs of their families. Despite their critical role, the majority remain outside the formal financial system. Having a bank account is more than just a convenience—it's a gateway to financial independence, security, and empowerment. It allows women to save securely, access credit, and invest in opportunities for themselves and their families. Studies have shown that when women are financially included, they reinvest in their communities, leading to broader economic growth and social development. Let’s champion financial inclusion and make sure every woman has the opportunity to thrive. JazzCash Jazz VEON #FinancialInclusion #WomenEmpowerment #EconomicGrowth #Fintech
