Corporate America 🤝 catching up with the times In all seriousness, I guess it's good on Chase/Jamie Dimon for having this mindset, but also kinda sad that this is "news" 🥱 The best companies have thought this way for a long time Define roles as the "jobs/tasks to be done" and see if people have relevant experience doing those jobs/tasks, then there's a higher likelihood they'll have success performing those jobs/tasks at your company 💪 From an applicant POV, cultivate relevant skillsets even if you don't have the paper (degree, certs, etc.) to prove it it; real experience & knowledge shines through in conversations when you're talking to the right people. #careers #hiring #commonsense

I have hired many people who check all the boxes of experience, but when they get into the job, they don't have the critical thinking or emotional intelligence skills to be successful. Another example of the insanity of the labor market in 2024. This job description lists one qualification as 4+ years of product management, which likely corresponds to 6-10 years of work experience, if not more. The actual application then asks for experience working at a B2B SaaS company, which is not listed as a qualification. Furthermore, they are requiring the applicant to provide their college GPA. I have three degrees and don't remember my GPA for any of them; frankly, college grades are one of the least relevant data points an applicant could give you at this stage in their career.
