If you are being considered for redundancy or reached an agreement with your employer regarding the termination of your employment and have been offered a settlement agreement, we can advise you on the effect of signing a settlement agreement. As signing such a document removes some of the rights you would usually have on termination of your employment, it’s a requirement that you receive independent legal advice before signing it. We are able to meet with you to discuss the agreement and its impact, and hopefully make the process as stress free as possible. Your employer would usually pay your legal fees for the advice - so there is no charge to you. Find out more about our services here: https://lnkd.in/eFamU6EE - and if you have any questions, please let us know. #settlementagreements #redundancy #employmentlaw #legaladvice

Federal Judge Issues Injunction Against FTC Non-Compete Rule On July 3, 2024, a federal judge in the Northern District of Texas issued a preliminary injunction against the FTC's non-compete rule, which was set to go into effect on September 4, 2024. The judge indicated a “substantial likelihood” that the rule will be struck down as an overreach of the FTC’s authority. Scott Atwood, chair of Henderson Franklin's Employment Law Group, discusses what this means for employers and advises caution in making changes to non-compete agreements.
