Most schools are back in session. Be aware of your surroundings... • Slow Down in School Zones • Be Cognizant of School Buses • Adjust Driving Hours • Be Aware of Traffic Congestion • Slow Down in School Zones - There are many communities across America where truck routes pass right by elementary, middle, and high schools. Never exceed the school zone speed limits under any circumstances, and pay close attention to all electronic monitoring devices. • Be Cognizant of School Buses - The start of classes invariably means fleets of school buses taking to the roads. Drivers should be mindful that school bus drivers are held to a different standard than most others; everything from speed to making right turns on red is tightly regulated for bus drivers. • Adjust Driving Hours - Although federal regulations are stricter than they have ever been regarding driver hours. Be mindful of your HOS and allow yourself plenty of time to account for unexpected school traffic. • Be Aware of Traffic Congestion - Local expressway traffic in university towns tends to swell during active school sessions; it is especially troublesome at the start of the fall semester when so many new students are in town for the first time. Make sure to be mindful of your following distance and always allow yourself an out. #safety #ESOP #transportation #warehouse #logistics #supplychain

As parents, there will never be a time when we stop wanting to keep our children safe, especially when we aren't there to protect them ourselves. We advocate for safety measures when we see issues, or when we know there are common sense ways to increase that safety. As parents, its why we started our company, #BusGates. We knew we could invent something that would increase safety around school buses, and we are on a mission to bring our products to school districts around the country. One of the most alarming safety concerns facing our school buses today is the illegal passing of stopped buses. As parents, we hope you will join us in educating local school leaders to explore new technologies that make our children safer getting to and from school. According to the NASDPTS (National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services) 2023 Stop Arm survey - 94,581 school bus drivers reported that 62,482 vehicles passed their buses illegally on a single day during the 2022-2023 school year. In every state, it is illegal for drivers to pass a school bus while the school bus stop-arm is extended, and the red lights are flashing. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA - the most dangerous part of the school bus ride is getting on and off the school bus. Exploring innovative technologies and solutions that enhance the visibility of school bus stop signs could significantly reduce the incidence of drive-arounds. By considering effective solutions, we can help ensure that every child travels to school and back home safely, without unnecessary risks from irresponsible drivers. Action today can make a difference in protecting our children's lives tomorrow. #SchoolBusSafety #BusGates #DriveSafe #SchoolZoneSafety #TrafficSafety #SchoolTransportation

Nowadays every 2nd school promote themselves as a International school But also - Their buses are not safe, no camera’s, no SOS’s - Driver do over speed and rash drive - Parents don't know the bus’s location & child's whereabouts Then school wonder - Why their parents are in panic or in anxiety - Why parents are calling each and every time to transport head - Why transportation is the department, schools get the hard time with What not to do: Quit the cheap basic tracking solutions you are using with no excellent service team as just a basic tracking link does not make your bus safe for students What to do: Invest in the best in class school bus tracking solution which resolves the challenges of stakeholders like - Transport head: many calls or visibility vacuum - Parents: unsure waiting time for school bus or anxiety of child’s safety Better invest in the safety of students before someone really questions about school following the international standard! #SchoolManagement #StudentSafety #Parents #SchoolBusTracking #AIS140 #EducationInIndia #SchoolBus

Let's work together to keep our kids safe this school year! As the school year begins, let's prioritize the safety of our children. Here are some key tips for both motorists and students to help ensure everyone stays safe: For Motorists: Avoid Distractions: If you're driving near a school bus, put away your phone, turn down the radio, and stay fully focused. Kids can be unpredictable, so it's important to stay alert. Watch for Bus Lights: Always pay attention to a school bus's lights. Yellow means it's about to stop—so should you. Red lights and an extended stop arm mean the bus has stopped, and children are getting on or off. In this case, all vehicles must stop. Stay Observant: When a bus is parked, be cautious of students crossing in front of or behind it. Blind spots can make it difficult to see children, as well as other pedestrians and cyclists. For Students, Parents, and Guardians: Arrive Early: Students should be at the bus stop at least five minutes before the scheduled time. Stand a safe distance (five steps) from the curb and wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before approaching. If you miss the bus, never chase it. Stay Alert: Before crossing the street, students should look both ways and wait for the driver to signal when it’s safe. Limit distractions like headphones or cellphones at the bus stop. Avoid Blind Spots: Teach students to stay safe around the bus—never walk too close to the front, take three steps away from the side, and avoid the back where visibility is limited. 🚌 In the early 20th century, school transportation was a far cry from what it is today. Safety measures were lacking, and the concept of protective measures inside vehicles was almost non-existent. 😬 💡 Fast forward to today, when many states have recognized the potential safety benefits of seat belts on school buses. However, financial considerations often play a significant role in the implementation of seat belts on school buses. 💰 As a result, we have a patchwork approach where some districts in a state might have buses with seat belts, while others might not. It's important to stay informed on the latest legislation because our kiddos are our future, and it's our responsibility to ensure their safety during their journey to knowledge. Let's work together to create a safer environment for all students! 💪 To learn more about the evolution of seat belt laws on U.S. school buses and the specifics for your state, read on at the blog from School Bus Fleet below. 👇 #StudentSafety #SchoolTransportation #SeatBeltsMatter #SafetyFirst https://lnkd.in/gMVhZYTC
